My husband and I had dinner yesterday and had the best service by operator 014602. Our dinner/transaction was autho: 075418 came to $1501 pesos. This man had excellent way of dealing with customers and treated us like people not like a $ sign. I gave him $351 pesos as a tip. We enjoyed our food and suggestions!! BUT the following day on 05/28/2021 operator 014650 was less than average. We gave him a cash tip that was below the 20%. While still getting out of our seat he ran to our table as to see how much I left him and sarcastically made a comment of the $ amount. “I walked back and said excuse me, I’m under no obligation to leave you a tip if I choose not to”. He tried to back peddle his comment once I confronted his comment. Tips are A courtesey not an obligation such a wage! I feel this is a lack of disrespect and lack of appreciation for the owners business. This waiter harms the business and reputation due to his greed. If you mistreat the customers with sarcastic comments because of a tip that is suppose to be A COURTESEY then you dont respect your boss and you are not looking out for the business. Your wage is being paid by your BOSS!! When you applied for the job you agreed to the pay. Your tip is extra. Appreciate your boss has given you a job and respect HIS clients!! Service like this is very damaging to a business and he should be repremanded. After I left I was really upset to see someone be so dispresctful and to have someone treat you based on your tip!!! People with this kind of attitude should not be in customer service. This gentleman forgets how grateful he should be that the owner of company gave him an opportunity!! I tried calling number on the internet, but no one picked up the phone. I would appreciate a respond to my complaint as a courtesey please to follow up my complaint....
Read moreThis place has gotten significantly more expensive than the years we came here prior. And can't say anything better about how the food is now....
Yes, they do add an automatic 20% gratuity to your receipt, and if you're one not to look carefully, you will definitely miss it. Be aware that your waiter or waitress will ask you if their service was good for 15% gratuity or excellent for 20% gratuity when you ask for the bill (so they can add it before bringing you the bill) after they have already charged you an automatic 20% gratuity to your bill. The calculations on my phone didn't match the receipt..
When paying for my bill the waitress reached over while the POS machine was in my hand, and pressed the #1 button after I had entered my PIN code. Her reason was that I apparently didn't press the okay button. (She actually pressed the 15% tip) - unbelievable....
Make sure you tally up every single thing you purchase from there on your phone and make sure it matches with the receipt.
As for the food it has also gotten significantly less authentic Mexican. It is turned into a one stop shop for tourist only. The food is subpar, the flavor is subpar. All the meats were very dry and the tacos where is soggy and the pico de gallo on the inside of the taco was warm and very old.... all in all we were excited to visit again because we had such a great experience in 2016 when micaela's was not so busy. I can now say I will never be returning again due to poor food quality, and extremely unprofessional -pushy employees. Tips are earned and not an automatic percentage expectation, especially for...
Read moreAvoid this tourist trap!!!! Basic mango margarita was severely over priced at I think 345 pesos. It came with a gold tequila so I kindly requested a silver tequila be used. He asked Don Julio? And I said yes knowing that there might be a small up charge. Then he asked me if I wanted a second shot…when I inquired about the cost for the 2nd shot he looked confused and then finally said 390 pesos to which I laughed and said no thanks. Then, the margarita came out, it was in a fairly large glass and next to it was a bottle of Don Julio 70 and a small shot glass. When I asked him what it was, he said this is the tequila for your margarita. I asked wait, there’s no tequila in it right now and he said no I add it at the table. I clarified that I did not want Don Julio 70. And she implied that it was the only silver tequila she had. I am guessing this is incorrect. At this point, I just went with it. One little shot of tequila in a very large glass of mango margarita and it ended up being a 500 peso drink or $31.25!!!
For my food, I ordered the Mayan chicken, and it was supposed to come with rice and fried plantains. In terms of the plantains, there were three underripe, and very thinly sliced pieces of plantain on the plate. The chicken was a nice bone in piece that was very tender, but somehow had been over cooked to the point of also being very dry. It was in an orange achiote style sauce that had the consistency of water and tasted no better. Overall, I am very unhappy with this experience.
This place is truly a tourist trap with sneaky upcharges, weak drinks, and...
