Las BBQ Tulum — Restaurant in Quintana Roo

We came to this place for some drinks and light food. We saw that the place was popular, also it was very close to our accommodation.

The place is small, only several tables, however the tables are pretty long, they can be shared. That is what we did because no empty tables were available. We ordered several beers and one naranjada, a 250g brisket, a corn, potatoes and coleslaw. The food arrived shortly. Everything was very fresh and tasty especially with the selection of sauces that are on the table. We paid for everything around 700 pesos.

The design of the place is great: simple but modern and pleasant - lights, plants, comfortable tables. The music is not too loud. The grill is visible to the customers, which is a bit of a show.

The waiters could speak English and were very friendly and helpful.

The food was fine. Not amazing. But I'm used to American bbq so that's just my perception. Pretty fun atmosphere. My big issue was when paying. There was a nice hand written note on the bill saying "a 15% tip is suggested, thank you" while they had already included a 15% tip as a charge on the bill adding to the total. Then when she went to swipe my card she asked if I would like to leave a 15% tip (in addition to the already included 15% tip). It felt like they saw an American and assumed they could trick me into paying a 30% tip. Tipping should be an option and an expression of appreciation for excellent service. They were not deserving of a 30% tip in my opinion. I don't mind leaving a tip for the service provided but when you're trying to trick me into paying a 15% tip twice that leaves a bad taste...

This place is a GEM!!!! Who ever owns it knows what their doing, delicious BBQ their sauces are all homemade their BBQ sauce you can taste the peppercorns & bay leaves soooo yummy!!!great presentation we got the box that has a little bit of everything 💗💗💗💗💗💗 the wings are my FAV who am I kidding everything is delicious!! It’s a must visit and this is our 3rd time and it won’t be our last!
