I booked this hotel at the last minute when the booking I had made well in advance ended up being fraudulent. I chose it because it was very close to the Super Aki and the main road. It was easy to find but from the outside it did not look like a hotel but more like a restaurant. You have to actually go through the restaurant to find the reception desk. Jose at the front desk greeted me which such kindness. I got a room on the second floor close to the back, away from Coba avenue. The hotel is really pretty a colourful with colourful art work adorning the walls and a cute pool in the middle of the hotel that I did not get a chance to use. The room was cute and very clean. I had two double beds and a small table . There was also a fridge with glasses. The bed was comfortable and the bed sheets and pillow smelled nice. The lighting in the room however was very low . The fridge did not work very well and didn't cool off my water. The shower had low pressure but the water was nice and hot. Unfortunately I had one if the worse nights ever staying at this hotel. There was super loud club music that only stopped at 4 m. Also, the dogs in the neighbourhood were out of controls and barked non stop all through the night and day. To add insult to injury the cleaning staff were super loud and talked in front of my room preventing me to sleep a little more in the morning. They had a gift shop boutique and their own restaurant. My room rate included breakfast which was good. I had chilaquile verde con huevos which tasted good . I had lunch there as well which consisted of pescado Fritos con Arizona y verduras ( fried whole fish with veggies and rice. I was a little taken back when I was charged 60 pesos for a tiny glass of on that was less than 125ml! The waitress was really cold with me but then again that may be because I forgot to tip her! So I left the place the next day exhausted and having only slept 2 hours due to the noise. I booked a different place in a quieter area where I was...
Read moreWhat we did not like about this property is first of all that they close the hotel at 10:00PM and when we arrived after this time as a family with a reservation confirmed by expedia we found the hotel closed with a chain around the door and padlocked. A cleaning person who was working in the courtyard of the hotel would not let us in even if we had our reservation and showed it to him and even then he hardly paid attention to us. After a dialogue where we were able to have the attention of the cleaning person or guard, he agreed to communicate by phone with a contact of the hotel possibly his supervisor and from two rooms that we had reserved, they gave us access to only one room and it was where we finally agreed to be given that room so we would not be left in the middle of the night without a hotel in that dark place. The next day we did not find the manager or supervisor of the hotel, only a hotel representative. I explained to him that I was requesting at least a return of my money for the extra room we paid for, what happened is that this representative made some calls and agreed to return the money through expedia which to this date expedia denied the refund just because the hotel do not answer the calls. Expedia sent me an email letting me know that they are not responsible and that they abide by the hotel rules that there would be no return of money once the reservation was made. If it helps, my recommendation is to avoid any dealings with this...
Read moreGreat staff, light, airy, modern vibe, nice rooms, good WiFi and free parking and bicycles.
The free parking is right outside the lobby, so it's super easy checking in. The main courtyard gives out a chilled and relaxed vibe. Everything is clean and tastefully modern, and the staff very happy and buoyant. WiFi is good, and breakfast is served with care. There are bicycles available free of charge, and the staff are more than happy to get them ready with a free padlock. I wouldn't say this was a luxury hotel, but the room was spacious and well equipped. I had a car, so location wasn't an issue for me, but if you are a foot soldier then it may be a slight issue walking into the main part of the town in the heat of the day - it's not far at all, it's just doing it in the heat might not be for some. You'll have to call reception for a cab as I didn't see any waiting on a prayer. I liked the decor of the bar restaurant, and it had obviously had some care and design, but it's not ideal for small kids as there is near and easy access through the small car park onto the main road outside.
I wasn't totally sold on the location with respect to the main bar and restaurant strip, given the price of the rooms. Tip: Ground floor...
