It's taken me a while to fully process my amazing trip to Tulum and surrounding areas for my 45th birthday.
My friend and I used Xaman-Ha for airport shuttle service to and from Cancun International Airport, and for three days of mind-blowing excursions into the real Tulum.
On our first excursion, Jesus escorted us to a private horseback riding session followed by a refreshing dip in a cenote (I chose to zipline into the cenote at one point!). He then treated us to a flavorful lunch (which even included a vegan option)!
On the day of my birthday, I wanted to do a Mayan Healing as our second excursion and Pablo took excellent care of us. He not only took us to the ceremony and participated in it with us (translating portions of it into English), but he showed us aspects of traditional Mayan culture that you would not be able to see anywhere else and even treated my friend to a cold coco(nut) with special seasonings.
The next day, our tour guide, Salvador, took us to Akumal Monkey Sanctuary and Rescued Animals in nearby Akumal, where we got to hold an actual boa constrictor, a spider monkey and tropical birds. We then went snorkeling at a nearby beach for up-close views of the most beautiful sea turtles alive, followed by another lunch.
Each trip included complimentary waters, snacks and cervezas, as well as information on the rich history and culture of the region. In addition, Jesus's musical playlist was on fire! :-)
I want to note that my friend is physically disabled and we both sincerely appreciated how each tour guide modified or went out of their way to accommodate his needs, as well. We appreciate Xaman-Ha's commitment to inclusiveness of differently-abled people.
I am glad to have spent five days with the folks at Xaman-Ha Connections and for making my birthday the most memorable yet.
Gracias, Gracias,...
Read moreWe had a fantastic day with Carlos Pineda, our guide. The cenotes we visited we gorgeous. The first was open and public but Carlos timed our visit perfectly- there we very few other people there. The view was spectacular. And we had an opportunity to swim in the sunshine, in the jungle, in the cenote! My boyfriend took advantage of the diving ledge and impressed me with his dives while I was a bit too scared to jump. The water is so clear that it made the jump look much higher than it was and I have a fear of heights. Carlos took many photos of us so that we can remember this experience and share it with others. We were also taken to two private cenotes that were underground - and we were also able to swim with Carlos ensuring that we were always safe. He provided all the instruction we needed as to where to go and what to see with the snorkeling equipment provided by the company. We were even given flashlights to see as we swam through the cool dark caves underground. Life jackets were also available for our use. An absolutely unforgettable experience! It really helped that Carlos was clearly passionate about all that he showed us. He taught us a lot about the cenotes and about Tulum and Mexico generally and he was so laid back, so accommodating- it was like spending the day with a friend I had known for years. The lunch that was included with the tour was as delicious as promised and we had the opportunity to eat authentic Mexican meals. I am so glad we decided on this tour and that we had a private tour. It makes all the difference in the world if you are looking for an immersive experience with a knowledgeable, dedicated guide. Clearly, we highly highly recommend this company and guide. Above and beyond in every possible way- everything was exquisitely planned and executed. This was a highlight of our...
Read moreBEST DAY EVER! We found Xaman-Ha from their incredible reviews here on Google and after reading them we were sold. I can confirm that all of these incredible experiences and reviews people have left would be accurate if there day was anything like ours!
We arrived in Tulum and were interested in visiting some cenotes, after driving past a few of the public ones we decided that they were far to crowded and would not be able to experience the true connection of what these places meant to the Mayan people.
After doing some Google searching we found Xaman-Ha offered private tours to their own cenotes which looked perfect for what we had in mind.
Our day started with a private pickup from our hotel in a brand new very clean and tidy van which transported us to the start of the jungle where our Polaris RZR 1000cc race buggy was waiting!
My partner and I had never driven one of these before so it was very exciting getting behind the wheel to navigate our way through the jungle discovering some cenotes for the day.
We ended up visiting 3 cenotes which we had entirely to our selves. We were able to experience absolute peace, quiet and tranquility down there and a true connection to these magical places..
Our guide Alan was honestly one of the best guides we have had on any tour since arriving here in Mexico. He spoke great English, was super informative, relaxed and patient with us whilst we took our time taking photographs in the cenotes. We even got to finish the day sharing an ice cold cerveza together!
If your looking for more of a relaxed and personal experience in the cenotes I can not recommend this tour enough. Feel free to reach out to me on any of my socials for more info :) (@thejoshshaw on Instagram)
10/10 Thankyou Alan & Xaman-Ha...
