Unfortunately very disappointing experience. The dishes we wanted to try were not available that day so we had to go with another options. Ceviche ultra bland, not enough lime and coriander. Barely any taste. Main dish I end up with was fish with garlic, which I didn't order. Dish was confused by the waitress but since I wanted to have fish anyway I decided to give it ago and not make an issue out of this. Huge mistake, same story as ceviche totally tasteless. Would be appreciated if someone can introduce a concept of spices to the chef. We were given some bottled sauces to our Nachos, this is really sad and disappointing since most places offer homemade salsas. But they just showed that they couldn't care less... And 15% of tip included in the bill is just outrages. You confuse my dish and then expect 15% of tip. Overall food is much too expensive for what it is and how it tastes....

The food was decent and served quickly. And seemed a reasonable price. Although I did get a small 500ml water too (not listed on the menu, so it's partially on me for not checking), which ended being basically half the cost of the meal. Overall it's not a huge amount of money, but just seems slightly too high and annoyed me a bit - especially when a 2L bottle across the road is about $20, and they're charging $35.

Read moreWowowow! Everything we had was so tasty- unique and so delicious! The fact that the two women and one male chiefs are local and know how to cook with fresh- clean and sometimes organic Mayan dishes was amazing!
We hired Ericka (La Coqueta) to be our chief for the week during our stay at a Villa in Akumal. She was highly recommended by the locals for providing local, fresh, GF, and Mayan dishes. She made our stay extra special by not only curating amazing breakfast and dinner dishes but also including daily mantras on a small board for us to remember why we were alive. Her staff was attentive and ensured our dietary needs were satisfied. I highly recommend her restaurant as the perfect culinary chief for your home stay in and...
