TreeTops Tulum — Hotel in Quintana Roo

The room here is basic but comfortable but the walls between rooms are thin so hopefully you don’t get loud neighbors. the owner must run the place remotely because there is no one at the front desk typically. We needed to check in early and told over email it was not possible though our room was empty and cleaned- we waited 4 hours by the pool before getting in. Additionally the owner wrote us a check-out email demanding a five star review which is extremely tacky. There’s a washer and dryer on the premise and while it says for personell only I wished to dry my swimsuit before packing it in my suitcase— there was no personell available on site to ask so I did use the machine for 30 minutes and a house keeper discovered my suit and confiscated it. Again, I realize it was listed as only for personell but come on ! The location is great in a gated area. The best service we got was at the front gate to the community— the man there went above and beyond and rented us bikes and a scooter for fair prices and was friendly and hospitable so im giving the place a 5 star location because of him not the...

I enjoyed my stay here. The room was clean, new, well equipped with ac, a fridge and all of the amenities (they even had conditioner). The pool was a nice perk. However bear in mind that the hotel is located inside a gated community (for security??) in a neighborhood that is still being developed (i.e. half-finished). You’ll have to walk 10 mins to reach the first grocery stores and restaurants and there are no streetlights in the immediate vicinity, so at night you’ll be walking in pitch darkness. We never felt unsafe, but still. Walking to Tulum Pueblo or Playa at night is similarly out of question. You’ll have to bring your own car or rely on the very expensive Tulum taxi system if you want to do stuff in the evening. Besides, there is no reception or personnel present on site in this hotel, you will receive communications via chat but there will be no physical person to talk to about any issues. Very nice and brand new apartment with a very stylish interior design. Fully equipped with everything you might ask for and the little details made me falling in love with this place immediately. Very comfortable beds, nice living room with a huge and comfy couch, good water pressure in the bathrooms and a beautiful private pool in the backyard. Wifi is good too!
