I stayed at Xambé Tulum for about a week in January 2025 and honestly, I loved my experience there. From the moment I reached out via WhatsApp to ask about Wi-Fi, bikes, and discounts for longer stays, the staff was incredibly responsive. They even sent me a full welcome guide in PDF format, which helped me feel confident the hotel would be exactly what I needed—and it was.
The rooms looked just like the pictures: clean, spacious, and thoughtfully designed with that cozy, minimal Tulum vibe. My king-size bed was super comfortable, and I appreciated the blackout shades—perfect for sleeping in after soaking up the tropical sun. The balcony was a great size, and I had a peaceful view of the jungle and the neighborhood street. I even had tropical birds stopping by my balcony a few mornings!
Wi-Fi in the room was good enough for remote work and a few video calls. There was no signal on the balcony or rooftop, but honestly, those spots were better used to unwind anyway. Speaking of the rooftop—the pool up there is beautiful and such a great place to relax. There's also a juice bar upstairs, though it wasn’t open during my visit.
One of the best things about this place is how quiet and peaceful it is. The rooms are spaced out really well, so you barely hear other guests. Plus, there’s a free laundry room on the ground floor—huge bonus if you’re staying longer.
The hotel is in a developing part of Aldea Zama, tucked back from the busier areas. It felt safe and calm, with no issues from nearby construction. Roads are fully paved, and it's about a 17-minute bike ride to the beach or under 10 minutes to the center of Aldea Zama, where you’ll find restaurants, cafes, and grocery stores. Just a tip: skip the bike rides after dark—no streetlights in that jungle stretch!
Now for the real MVPs: the staff. Braulio, Monica, and the rest of the team were amazing. They were always available—seriously, always—for anything I needed, whether it was getting a taxi to the bus station, making activity recommendations, or just helping out with random questions. Most of the staff speak English, but even when they don’t, they use a translator app to make sure you get exactly what you need. They went above and beyond to make my stay comfortable and enjoyable.
My stay at Xambé was truly wonderful, and I give full credit to the team for making it feel like home. I’d absolutely...
Read moreWe spent five nights at Xambetulum and highly recommend it. The architecture is a striking and harmonious blend of brutalism—featuring sleek, polished concrete—and Modern Californian style. Our room was stunning, and the rooftop pool was equally impressive, showcasing thoughtful and well-executed design elements.
The neighborhood is exceptionally quiet, with no traffic noise at all. We stayed on the top floor (4th level), in a room facing the forest. It costs a bit more, but the tranquil views are absolutely worth it. The AC is excellent which is important in Tulum.
We recommend this hotel only if you have a rental car and GPS on your phone (who doesn’t?), as it’s hidden within a maze of winding residential streets. Once you find it, though, it’s well worth the effort. Getting to and from Tulum center—which is about an 8–10 minute drive—would be inconvenient by taxi. Keep in mind that there are no restaurants or nightlife nearby, as the hotel is located in a quiet, residential area.
Read moreI recently stayed at Hotel Xambe, and my experience was extremely disappointing. From the start, the service was subpar. During check-in, the front desk assured us that someone would be available 24/7. However, on multiple occasions throughout our stay, there was no one at the front desk all night, and our room service calls went unanswered.
One of the most concerning issues was with the rooftop pool. From day one to day five, the same bugs were floating in the pool, indicating that it had not been cleaned the entire time. This level of neglect is unacceptable for any hotel.
Additionally, there was a significant mishap with our room. We were promised a room with certain amenities, but upon arrival, it was not as described. Manager Prescila assured us a refund for the room difference, but she has been continuously delaying it and providing false promises. Her dishonesty and lack of professionalism have been extremely frustrating.
For anyone considering a stay at Hotel Xambe, I strongly advise against it. The lack of cleanliness, poor service, and deceitful management make it an unpleasant and stressful place to stay. Avoid this hotel...
