We just had breakfast at Cafe Maya-Xel. An incredible place. First of all, the interior is stunning. I’ve rarely seen anything like it, and when I have, it’s been in high-end restaurants.

There are so many details, starting from the entrance to the restaurant and even in the restroom. The entire ceiling, walls—everything—is covered in beautiful shells. And on top of that, they’ve installed lights in these shells, so every shell on the ceiling, walls, or elsewhere serves as a light fixture. It’s incredibly unique, unusual, and beautiful.

As for the food, it was exceptional. I ordered eggs benedict with salmon, and it was incredibly delicious. We also ordered toast with salmon. My daughter had an almond croissant with some juice, and my wife also ordered a juice. Everything was amazing. The sweetness level was perfect—very balanced, which was great because my daughter loves sweets, and we try to limit her intake.

I highly recommend this place to absolutely everyone. Regarding the pricing, I was genuinely surprised. I feel like this place is worth much more than what they charge. They’ve truly done an excellent job. While we were there, the entire restaurant was completely packed from...

Nice terrace. Good flat white coffee and high speed internet (160mbit down, 180mbit up).

Like many others in Tulum, to bad that they add tips into the total price of the receipt. I understand that it’s not mandatory and I can choose myself whether I want to pay it or not. But given the fact that they still add it into the total amount gives people the feeling it’s the “normal”. Typical something which is common to do in USA but not in non touristy places in Mexico and other parts of the world. Stay humble, and people will tip if you deserve it.

For this reason 4 stars instead of 5

Unfortunately 10:30 no Almond croissants. Stocking food can be...

I got the Fungi Omelette and a Soy Latte. The soy latte was just like a warm hung and it had a hint of sweetness. The mushroom omelette came stuffed with spinach and mushrooms. The dish also had seasoned potatoes, the softest sourdough bread, and a small bit of mezze topped with pumpkin seeds. I also added some extra bacon which was delicious. A bit more like cooked serenno ham than American bacon though. In the morning the atmosphere is calm and relaxing. I worked on my laptop for a while well I enjoyed my breakfast. However when I was near done, I left my table to use the bathroom. When I came back they had taken the rest of...
