This was genuinely the single worst restaurant experience I have ever had.
We were seated and then waited 1.5 hours+ and didn’t even get so much as a water!! While tables that came in after us were served their entire meal.
The worst part was that they led us on the entire time. I got up and talked to waiters 3 separate times, and they assured us it was always “about to come out” & one even wrote down an order.
Then the original waiter came over after 90 min (without even being considerate enough to bring a water that i had asked for 3 times already) and said no one ever put our order in. We got up and a left on the spot.
Never felt so disrespected in all of my dining experiences.
*Added context:
This was our 2nd time eating here, no other Italian options nearby. Service was ok the first time & I still tipped the waiter 40% of my bill. And that same waiter was the one that decided to completely neglect us the 2nd...
Read moreTotem was a restaurant my friends and I found advertised on a pole near our Airbnb in Tulum. They would be showing the super bowl. We had no clue it was going to be a nice restaurant. Highly suggest if you like a nice meal. We sat inside being all the outdoor spots were taken. Sorry if we were loud haha. When there is a super bowl you should hear cheering. I’m vegan so I ordered a pizza with no cheese. I had no clue it was going to be so large for that I’m thankful it became breakfast the next morning too. The pizza was accompanied with pepper flakes,an oil and balsamic. I’ve never done balsamic on a pizza but Totem changed my mind I love it. I also had a hibiscus margarita is was yum as well. My friend stated her food was just as well. Will be stopping in on my next vacation I’m excited to see what more they have to offer food wise. Great service and...
Read moreThe food was very good. We had fish and steak. Plates are very well presented. Service was very friendly and we had a nice chat with him on Tulum's area and community. A little bit on the pricey side but this restaurant is beautiful and comfy and located in the nicest part of Aldea Zama which is a very trendy area of Tulum. We had the Monk fish and the steak and I had a glass of red wine and my partner soda water. Total price was around 1,900 pesos before tip. No mosquitos at night either although there is vegetation around. We were there in February 2024. The only reason why we give a 4 for food is that the steak was cold although the side sauce was warm so it helped. Our waiter was very receptive and apologetic when we told him after the meal and thanked us for our comment. I don't think they will serve cold...
