Our host was amazing. We travelled to get a sense of the local culture. Roxanna told us about all the best places to try out both for locals and tourists. Gave us tips on best way to get around and where to shop for everything from souvenirs to groceries. Her house is so welcoming and you instantly feel at home. The house itself is very eclectic bringing in Mexican culture, Mayan traditions and some Canadian culture such as AC and excellent wifi.
We took a tour with Roxanna where she wrangled my teens into an amazing day trip on bikes to a local swimming cenote and the most amazing hidden cenote that we never would have known about. We were served homemade lemonade and tacos at the end of our long adventure and enjoyed the company and stories at her welcoming table.
There are board games and books to enjoy in her garden and convenient stores, banks and everything you need within a few blocks.
We can’t wait to come back to learn more about this...

My phone was stolen by her employee and she begged me not to call the police that would potentially harm her business. A well known thief in the area...yet I was blamed for charging my phone in the hallway because the outlets in my room did not work. Feel free to contact me and I will share many more stories. SO MANY STORIES! HORRIBLE HORRIBLE PERSON!!!!!!! I'll let you know exactly who you are...
Read moreI stayed with my family for two nights and decided it was not enough time in Valladolid with our host, Roxanna! We came again for our last night in Mexico. Roxanna took us on a bike tour and taco tour, both were amazing. She was able to take us to cheaper cenotes and restaurants while still getting a wonderful experience. Roxanna lived in the USA for years, speaks fluent English and Spanish and understands travellers needs when abroad. The rooms were cool, and spacious with two beds and a hammock. See you...
