We stayed in this Hostel for 2 nights and we were astonished for the beauty of the place. A very recent and well decorated hostel, very friendly and quiet. The entrance and the patio are soooo beautifull. It has a little fountain in the middle and tables and chairs to rest on arrival, and to have a very tasty breakfast in the morning to have strength to face the day walking in the medina. The location is very nice, inside the old medina and not difficult to find. The rooms (I was able to see more than one cause we were many) were very clean and soon fresh (with air conditioning, you will understand how good it was went you experienced it). The sheets and the bathroom were clean also and they provide tree towels to bath, to dry hands and another don't know what for 😂). The beds were comfortable, despite of I didn't sleep much (I will tell you why). My bedroom also hade a place just to pray if want if to. But, in fact, I think the most incredible place in this Hostel is the rooftop. Despite of other very comfortable living rooms with sofas and adequate decorative things, the rooftop was astonishing. With also lots of place to sit and lay down to watch the sky and the stars it provides an fantastic 360 degree view of the medina and Fés (check the photos) A quite place too, you can stay there just resting, talking with friends, you in loved person, meting other people or just enjoying the view and being flood by the environment of the city. That's why we did not sleep much 😂 In fact, I don't have none bad aspect to notice, it was a really nice experience and (off course, I forgot to mention) at very good price! Another thing important to mention was the all time and atençion of the staff. Hamza welcomed as since we arrived and was all time available for what we might need. Since take each one of us to the room, giving as the goodmoorning greetings, and serving us the very tasty breakfast, until night late in case we need something. All time well willing, talking with us in English (very important find someone in morro condition that speaks English for the ones who doesn't speak French) was also responsible for our nice stay here. Ohhhh yes! The cats (clean and feed ones) also made part of the experience since they (I think 2 or 3) were somehow in every place we were. Just resting around or enjoying the environment just like us. So, because all of this, I recommend this place to still and enjoy when you...
Read moreSCAM Alert - Avoid at all costs if you want a comfortable trip. Don’t be misled by the many positive reviews—this property MANIPULATES BOOKING STATUSES to avoid negative feedback and IGNORES CUSTOMER INQUIRIES from booking platforms. This was the worst hotel experience I’ve had among dozens around the world.
Here’s what happened during my stay:
They only accept cash payments and do not provide receipts, likely to prevent guests from having any proof in case of disputes like mine.
This is a scam operation. If you decide to stay, BE SURE TO DEMAND A WRITTEN RECEIPT. But honestly, I strongly recommend choosing...
Read morethe entrance is quite hard to find and kind of hidden in the medina. The rooms are fine but the bathroom smells so bad, there's no air and it stinks up the room if you leave a crack open (old wooden smell and almost like people peed everywhere). Not a good experience. The owner will also try to rip you off getting a taxi to chefchaouen, saying it'll cost 250 or 200 dirhams per person to go. Just go to the Gare routière Principale bus station (10-15 min walk away past the ain azliten parking lot for 4 dirhams on a petit taxi/2min ride) to buy the CTM bus ticket and it costs only 75 dirhams. Remember to book a day or two in advance to guarantee a seat! they do provide free breakfast at the hostel and there's a small heater in the room, great when it's cold at night. The street leading to this place was a bit sketchy when my group arrived at night. Follow the signs and don't let random people guide you there, they'll probably ask you for money after they do. I'd recommend finding another place that might be better than this. There are lots of options in the medina and you might have better luck than I did. I felt the high reviews I saw here were a bit inaccurate based on my own experience (and I've traveled a lot - over 20 countries and have stayed at countless hostels/hotels to be unbiased in my reviews).
oh on the side note there's a good donut place and freshly squeezed juice place nearby :)
*another note, CTM's bus station is in new town which is about 10-20 dirhams away by petit taxi, the guy at the station is really nice and will tell you when to get there to make sure...
