While the entrance to the building, with it’s menu board branded by TripAdvisor and other misleading ads, suggests that the restaurant is just one of the numerous touristic places in the medina, lunch at Dar Hammad proved to be the best dining experience during our visit of Fes.

You are welcomed by the friendly family operating the restaurant since 100+ years (according to our waiter) and the traditional moroccan food served on the terrace, which overlooks the whole city, is sublime.

As a group of 5, we were able to taste the majority of the menu, and all dishes exceeded our expectations. Personal favorites, like the chicken pastilla and beef tajine, were branded as « the best i’ve ever had ». Combined with delicious fruit juices, the attentive service and a very fair final bill, Dar Hammad certainly counts to the few culinary must visits of the Medina in Fes.
