While the entrance to the building, with it’s menu board branded by TripAdvisor and other misleading ads, suggests that the restaurant is just one of the numerous touristic places in the medina, lunch at Dar Hammad proved to be the best dining experience during our visit of Fes.

You are welcomed by the friendly family operating the restaurant since 100+ years (according to our waiter) and the traditional moroccan food served on the terrace, which overlooks the whole city, is sublime.

As a group of 5, we were able to taste the majority of the menu, and all dishes exceeded our expectations. Personal favorites, like the chicken pastilla and beef tajine, were branded as « the best i’ve ever had ». Combined with delicious fruit juices, the attentive service and a very fair final bill, Dar Hammad certainly counts to the few culinary must visits of the...

We were a group of Italians, fresh from the airport, and we truly got blessed with a stunning view over Hammad. The restaurant owner warmly welcomed us and led us to a long table on the terrace, where we enjoyed an eagle-eye perspective of the city.

The food matched the setting — mouthwatering tagines and Moroccan delicacies, served in portions that were perfectly sized for travelers who dine out every day while on the road. The concise menu was a highlight: traditional, carefully tailored, and focused on authentic flavors only.

The service was warm and attentive, with excellent English and great communication throughout. While the ambience and the view were nothing short of uncanny, the food itself was equally wonderful.

Highly recommended for those who want to enjoy both Morocco’s cuisine and its...

We knew we wanted to try this place because when we went at 7:45 pm the first night, Abdul apologized that the restaurant had closed early because they already sold out for the day! We arrived around 2 pm the next day and sat on the terrace. The menu features the most common Moroccan dishes that tourists would want to try at reasonable prices. My husband had the tagine with chicken which came with a nice variety of 7 vegetables. I had the chicken pastilla which Abdul promised was the best in Fes. Having had this dish two other times already, we had to agree! The avocado shake was tasty, made with milk and a touch...

We had the best chicken pastilla of our entire trip here! All the food was incredible! The place is family run, and everything is home cooked. Abdul was our server and he was so nice and welcoming! It’s a small menu since it’s a small restaurant, but everything is fantastic and the service was fast! (we had 4 different items!). The view of the city is also fantastic! And the prices are more than reasonable!! Highly recommend.
