I will start by saying i paid £50 for 3 nights as a solo traveller. The hotel is tucked down a side street just off the medina so i was lucky to find it after getting off the hotel express bus. My first room was on the first floor and wifi reception was great but the toilet wasnt very reliable shall we say, so i moved after the first night to the second floor, which was a bit quieter but i couldnt get wifi up there. Both rooms were simply furnished and decorated but spotlessly clean (including all sheets and towels). Neither of them had a working tv but shower was powerful and hot ( if not a bit of a small area).||Breakfast was served on the roof terrace by a lovely lady. It was a tray consisting of breads, jam and butter, a boiled egg, and a piece of cake, along with OJ and very nice hot coffee. This was adequate for me, but as there was no choice, would not suit everyone. ||The nice lady also gave me a sunbed cushion and a sheet so i could relax on the sun terrace (accessed by a slightly tricky set of ladder steps) with my book for an hour each afternoon.||Luxury this is not, but if you want to be central, and feel like youve experienced an authentic 'rough it' type holiday whilst feeling clean and fairly comfortable, then this hotel is ideal. ||One word of warning, there are no safes in the rooms,...
Read moreSimply the best location in central Medina. ||Think of the location as a middle of a star, ALL attractions of Marrakech are within 400 m in all directions, so you save your legs a lot.||I travel In Marrakech every year and this time just needed at basic cheap bugdet accomodation. ||very basic non oriental or romantic rooms, small in size. But clean and the two top terasses vere just as pretty as staying in some of the riads.||puls is the upper terasse is a bit higher than others, so you have a full 360 view over Marrakech. you can even se a part of the Big Square and hear the flutes and drums of the snakecharmers.||downside is that the streetnoise is very loud, because of the rooms turns towards streets with trafic. ||wifi worked poorly in the room but fine in the lobby and on the roof.||poor waterpressure in the drains for a shower. But for me no big deal when you are in the wonderfull Marrakech. you can take your daily wash down in a local hammam further down the street :) :)||go go go I...
Read moreI stayed for 1 week at the end of Sep 2016. The hotel is full of charm. It is ideally located just off the Djemaa El Fna Square. The beds are comfortable. The breakfast is only 5 euro and is beautifully presented on the terrace. There is also a roof terrace with sun loungers and terrific views. Most of all the staff are extremely welcoming and friendly. I especially mention Soufian who works on reception and Saida the chamber maid. He was always on hand to help or assist in any way possible. He made tea on arrival. The room can be cleaned at any time. A trip to the Olrika Valley is well worth doing. Overall I cannot fault Hotel Amira and Vacance and would highly recommend it as a good value base from which to...
