Seems to be kind of overhyped to me. The food was not bad but definetly I've had better maroccan food in other places. Didn't even mean to review, but the reason for the review is the HORRIBLE SERVICE. Super rude and not welcoming at all. The restaurant was full so we were told to wait 30 min and they were "100% sure" we'll have a table then. We came back and no table was ready as they seated other 2 guests who came 30s before us (they came for the first time). Told us to wait again and a few minutes later we finally had our seat - unfortunately halfway in the sun while it was 40+ °C, so a very uncomfortable place. Before even getting our food there were 2 tables leaving inside where the AC is , so we asked nicely whether we could change to one of those tables. The waiter told us super rudly that we can't change because it's Ramadan for him (whatever that's supposed to mean in our situation). 5 minutes later new guests without reservation arrived and were seated on those tables. Food okay,...
Read moreCouldn't praise enough this little gem of a restaurant. Went for dinner when in Marrakesh after having read other reviews. Didn't regret a bit! We didn't reserve and were really lucky we came early (around 7pm) to get a table. Many people came in after us and were turned down. Do make a booking. It's cosy inside, the service was fantastic, both manager and waiters were checking from time to time if everything was ok. Actually everything was more than ok - so delicious! Try their pastilla - thinnest filo pastry almond and chicken pie - it's so good. I've had the Gazelles tagine sweet/salty, loved and ate everything. Reasonable priced - our bill for 2 people based on main course, 2 mint teas and 1 starter shared came to 230 Dirhams that is equivalent to £18. Like most other restaurants in town, unless it's a hotel, they don't serve alcohol. It's not far from Jamal el-Fna so when you've had enough of wandering about, it's a great place o recharge...
Read moreAfter leaving twice (1st at Cafe de Paris and 2nd at L’Mdina) nearby because no one care from both restaurant to give us service (did not even give menus for us to order), we finally settled here. The experience from 2 previous restaurant before here made me think at first that Moroccan service culture sucks. But La Cantine des Gazelles change it. Service here is fast and exceptional. Clearly the staff are trained. As soon as you are seated, a menu is handed over. Even comes the bread and olive and anything they want to offer to start. Then the wait staff comes back immediately to check if we are ready to order. The food comes quick as well and it is DELICIOUS. As a foreigner, trying tarjine of course is a must and this restaurant will simply give you the right taste. We shared everything because we feel the serving was quite generous. Highlighly...
