Riad Chayma Marrakech — Hotel in Marrakesh Prefecture

We booked this holiday not knowing anything about Marrakesh or Morocco. I simply like the name and that started the hunt for flights and a hotel. After reading reviews we booked Riad Chayma. We picked the mint room as it suited our budget. The taxi dropped us off late evening and we were greeted by a member of the Riad staff. Immediately we were thrust into the Medina way of life, chaos !! I began to think what had we let ourselves in for and where were we staying. Following our guide up the small street lined with street sellers, selling anything and everything from live chickens to shoes we turned down a small alley way and arrived at a huge black door. What greeted us behind this door was truthfully not what I expected. It was a place of peace and tranquility. Fresh mint tea and a friendly face appeared in the lounge and with the sound of relaxing music and a water fall, we were greeted into what felt like their home. Our room was on the ground floor and as we opened the door we stepped out onto what became our personal living space with a gentle water feature, a comfortable and relaxing lounge and best of all the plunge pool. The staff could not have been more helpfull, we had daily questions they were happy to answer and trips they were happy to book for us from camel rides to a relaxing massage. Breakfast was served each morning on the roof top terrace and each day a little different. I can only describe the whole experience as perfect. Our stay at Riad Chayma was lovely! We would highly recommend the place for couples, or small groups. My husband and I spent 6 nights at the Riad. The place is small and intimate with a nice rooftop patio. Breakfast was served every day on the rooftop. They prepared dinner for us our first night, and we both agreed it was the best food we had our entire time in Morocco. ||The staff went above and beyond to ensure we had a great time in Marrakech. Mohamed and Adil went the extra mile to help us book restaurants, activities, transportation -- anything and everything we needed during our stay. Someone is at the Riad at all times and able to help with any questions. The staff was by far the best part of our stay and made us feel welcome and at home. They made the difference in our time in Morocco and we are very grateful for their help! Better than any other hotel I've stayed at. ||The location is ideally set on the edge of the old town Medina but is walkable to the nightlife in the New Town and many of the tourist attractions in Marrakech. We walked everywhere, no need for a taxi or transportation except for excursions outside of the city. ||The suite itself was great -- large space comfortable for a couple or a small group of 3.
