We had a birthday hotpot at this place with high expectations because of the pricepoint and the implied impression everything was homemade where I was largely led by the overall reviews.
For the hotpot we had a spicy and mushroom broth which were both quite good. We also ordered fresh lamb and lamb skewers which lived up to our expectations although on the expensive side. The portions and prices were definitely a bit underwhelming especially when you order for 3 people. I understand a business has to generate revenue but when eating with just 3 people and trying out a couple of things on the menu you already easily exceed paying 140-150 euros drinks excluded. A lot of the products for the hotpot were also frozen which is another thing that underwhelmed me a bit. One thing I do have to recommend is the plum wine, I hadn't tried it before and it was really good.
The hospitality and overall reception felt a bit cold to me. It wasn't as welcoming as I thought it would be especially because it's a small business although this is probably also in part because the work that had to be done at the kitchen however having made our friend feel welcomed during his birthday would've been a much appreciated gesture which we didn't get the impression of.
My review is based on the hotpot options, as for the drinks, buns, etc. I have no impression. For a hotpot however I would consider other options in the future because 165 euros for 3 people for the value, quantity and experience we had I would not consider to be worth it. I like to support small businesses but for what it was it should've been more unique or offered something extra in my opinion.
Everything was alright/good but nothing was exceptional. The socials also advertised Beijing pancakes and handmade noodles which sadly got taken off the menu. If I had known this preventively I might not have booked. The communication was also quite slow where I didn't receive a clear confirmation of the booking which initially led to a miscommunication, this should've been handled more professionally so I hope this will be improved in the future as well as the clarity with the menu. And the prices for the hotpot components were what you would expect for full fetched dishes, not a small plate of ingredients. It was too much for that, I would say it should be at least 30% cheaper to be...
Read moreMy second time at this humble place. They serve fresh halal Chinese cuisine (bonus points because itâs hard to find halal Chinese food). Every thing is freshly made. Had their Beijing Style Copper Hotpot earlier (took the tomato Thai & mushroom broth), it was so goood!! You have to book it in advance cause they prepare the meat fresh. We had Beef & Lamb Slices with garlic oil and had rounds of those for the hotpot. My friends and I also ordered the century egg for starter, it was my first time trying and itâs definitely an exquisite taste. I love it! One more thing, if youâre ordering drinks, please get the homemade plum drink. You will thank me later. I will be back for more to try other items. Keep up the good work...
Read moreCold, nasty and not tasty. Had the bibimbap and mandu with kimchi. Found a hair in my food and it was served cold. Had to reheat my food when it got here. Bibimbap sauce was nearly not enough for the amount of bibimbap you are getting. Kimchi smelled awful and stale. I didn't even eat it. And I know fermentation doesn't smell good but this was worse. Do not order from this place online. The mandu was ok. Wish it came with some sauce though. I think they are messing the online orders. I have the feeling they didn't like it very much that I ordered late. I will not...
