Clean and tidy grounds, beautiful garden and outdoor area with a playground and nice lawn. Despite the older building, the rooms are bright, clean and comfortable with no noticeable odours in our suite. Everything is well maintained, inside and out, no broken fixtures or appliances. Quality amenities, like the de Longhi coffee machine and the Forest and Bird soaps and lotions (with sustainable pump dispensers instead of disposable tubes) exceed expectations. The kitchen is stocked with ample cookware, utensils and dishware, including wine glasses. The information booklet is personal and informative with great descriptions of the attractions and the history of the surrounds.
And that's just the beginning. There is a place to wash your car, bikes you can borrow, a vegetable garden guests can harvest from, and they have a deep environmental philosophy in their operation. It seems that everything about this hotel is well considered, thoughtful, and meaningful. There's no million dollar view or luxury cars in the parking lot, but this is one of the best rental accommodations I've ever been to. The owners have put a lot of thought and effort into all the little details and it is does not go unnoticed. The facilities are great and the people make you feel instantly at home.

Read moreMy girlfriend and I booked a room at Aden Motel via trip dot com and they did not inform us that we could not check in after 10pm anywhere in the confirmation email and when we arrived at 11pm, Aden did not have any emergency contact information so we weren’t able to stay and were basically stranded for the night. We understand that this is something we could have called about earlier in the day but every other place we had stayed at had the standard practice of setting up a late check in and so we assumed this was not necessary. We had booked two nights and were definitely willing to accept the loss of our first night but when we came to speak to the receptionist the next morning, she was completely hostile to us and made us feel very sour and uncomfortable to continue our second night stay - and I quote “it doesn’t take a brain to know to call ahead”. She also would not allow a refund. We are very disappointed as we were looking forward to Aden but the lack of human kindness and sympathy really showed to us that we would rather stay somewhere else, such as Kingsgate across the road and offered us a discounted room as a result of...
Read moreWe booked for 2 Adults, 2 children (16 and 14 year olds) via *. When we arrived, we were given a room for 3 people. I advised the owner straight away that the room was booked for 4 people and showed him my booking. He checked his records and said that he was only advised that the booking was for 3 people. He asked me for $20 extra dollars as he would give me a bigger room to fit 4. I said that it was not my error and that I should not be charged extra as my booking was correct. He reluctantly said that he would give us the bigger room. It was a nice 2 bedroom and after speaking with my husband, we agreed to go back to reception and give him the extra $20 even though my booking was for definitely for 4 people. I went to reception and said that I don't mind giving the extra $20 as it is a very nice room. He then however completely surprised me and said "That's the least you can do. When you book accommodation, you need to book for the correct amount of people." I was taken back as this was not our error at all. He was so rude and I reluctantly handed over the extra $20. We will not be...
