Honestly if I could have rated negative points, I would be. Me and my partner arrived at 8am (very early) due to flight timings being moved about. We then went to the reception and was 'greeted' by cinderellas grumpy sisters. We maintained a polite attitude and asked if we could get in slightly earlier than normal. We were laughed at like they were a bunch of hyenas at a Michael Mcintyre comedy show followed by 'theres no chance'. We were told to come back at 2pm so enquired what there is around to do locally to help entertain us. Again the response was shut down and we were told in a brutish manner theres nothing to do and bye.
So we waited in the lobby (2 chairs in a cramped corner at the entrance) for about 30 minutes whereby during the time the hyenas that are of course the receptionists kept coming over asking what we were doing.
It was after this time that I went off into the complex to use the bathroom. I noticed on my way back through reception that we were being monitored like hawks and judged or percieved like theives. The receptionist gave this look suggesting we weren't booked in yet so no using the facilities..
Dinner was only suitable if you happen you happen to be of a certain breed of dog (definitely not pedigree, much more stray worthy) and my other half couldn't touch her food.
As for the hostel accommodation well... simply chose one... be either a hotel or a hostel. What they are trying to be just doesn't work and you feel like segregation is still alive and strong. You get looked down upon etc and the whole vibe is just wrong.
Upon leaving this pedigree chum wonderland we were stuck in the hostel area (as it's seperate) and had to walk all the way round in 0 lighting. Again we walked into reception and asked to check out which the guy at the desk muttered out '$5 outstanding' like he was straining to find a reason to be there (trust me I would too fella!) Anyway shocked to hear this I enquired what for. He said 'bus'. Right.. well as we were sat there for half a day yesterday some people were charged $2 and others $5. So I gave him $5 and he looked at me like I was not able to understand his mutterings. He proclaimed 'each!' In a sharp distorted grunt.
All in all folks there's a short way to sum this place up. If there's nowhere else in town to stay apart from this place, simply keep walking.... your hard earned money deserves much more.
To the staff there, I hope you never get spoken to or treated like how you treated myself my partner and or a couple of other guests we saw and heard you 'deal with' as one of the receptionists mentioned after a gentleman left looking for his booking number.

Read moreInformed the reception that the room was filthy upon arrival and was provided no solution except to leave my companion in the dirty room (we booked the 2 bed backpacker room) and be transferred into a 5 bed room. Why would I do that? How would that help us? There was no offer to clean it or make it right even when I showed pics of the room. I also contacted the property and manager with no response (it's been a good 3 days since my stay). We had a horrible night's sleep due to worrying about bed bugs given the state of the room... I've stayed at backpackers before, but never one in this condition. You may think to yourself that "ah it can't be that bad, people mostly leave bad reviews anyway, it's just a night stay" ...RECONSIDER. I was you. You may think " this chick is exaggerating and probably uptight"... USE MY PICS AS YOUR REFERENCE and decide if that's how you want to spend the night. Seriously, even if you have a red eye flight, spend a bit more money and put your mind at ease... I...
Read moreUnfortunately you can't leave less than one star! The backpackers is dirty and smelly. You have to make up your own bed as management has told the house keeping not to do it which is ridiculous when you're paying for a bed. You are provided with a bottom sheet, a pillow case and a dirty blanket that looks like it doesn't get washed and has been slept in by 2000 filthy travelers! I had to pay for an extra clean sheet to seperate me from the dirty dog blanket they provided. There is also no lockers to keep your belongings safe in the room so the only option is to carry anything of value with you if you want to leave the backpackers. The window in my room wouldn't close properly so the room filled with mosquitos and was constantly woken from being bitten by them. Apart from the fact that you are close to the airport and the bus is free to and from there is nothing good about...
