We had a fantastic stay in New Plymouth, made even better by the wonderful hosts, Rachel and Rodney. Rachel was easy to communicate with over email and Rodney was incredibly welcoming and accommodating throughout our visit. Rodney gave us lots of great recommendations for local walks and restaurants, and every suggestion we followed turned out to be spot on — we had an amazing time exploring the area thanks to him.||The room itself was quaint, very clean, and had such a cozy feel. The bed was super comfy, and the standing tub was such a vibe — being able to watch TV while soaking was a real treat. One thing to note is that the toilet is quite close in the space, so you’ll want to be comfortable with your travel companion. Read moreWe recently had the privilege of a wonderful experience at Hosking House with a group of friends. We were warmly greeted by Rachel with a welcome drink already waiting for us! The rooms are beautifully appointed with ensuite in each. There were 6 of us so each couple had their own slice of independent sleeping luxury. Rather than going out to dine, we simply had pizza delivered to make the most of the house. Breakfast the next morning was pre-prepared for us. Wonderful coffee, with frittata, bacon and Rod's own take on a traditional potato dish was beautiful. A lovely outlook to the garden couldn't have complimented the lazy morning breakfast any better. Highly recommend this to anyone looking for something special....you don't have to be an out-of-towner to treat yourself from time to time! Highly recommended.....thanks again...

Our room was comfortable and spacious and has a lovely bathtub next to the bed. Perfect for a relaxing soak after a day at Mount Taranaki. The breakfasts are superb too. No need for any lunch! They operate an honesty bar with good value beer and wine. A nice touch, especially when so many places try to fleece tourists.
