Mercury Bay Holiday Park — Hotel in North Island

We had a very large group stay for a duration of 5 days and every single one enjoyed the hospitality here! We stayed in a tent area and overall, felt like It was a very safe site for many of our kids. There are plenty of gas bbq and kitchen areas so saved ton of weight traveling to and from the site. TV room, swimming pool and park area to keep the little ones entertained when you just want to relax.

Lots of friendly people and great staff! but loved the fact that we were very close to a lot of amenities such as "The warehouse, New World, Countdown, service stations, restaurants ect. And because of this, our food was always fresh! Having these places close by meant that we were able to travel lite. And oh, by the way there is also a cinema close by for those rainy days:)

We met families and groups that told us of their experience and many have been regulars for the same reasons above.

I stayed with a friend in one of the small cabins and the park is close to the shops.||||The rooms had long term dirt, the floors look like they had never been washed. The couch was so old and dirty that I put one of the spare sheets over it - as I did not want to sit on the couch, it was really filthy. Yuck. The room didnt smell that good due to lack of cleanliness. There were no electric plugs for the heater, except behind the bed as the cord for heater was too short to reach the one availble over the sink. ||||The reception lady was friendly, and the property is affordable, but there is a serious lack of training and cleanliness in the rooms. This is a wonderful place for familirs or if you're travelling on your own. All the amoing sites are powered and are really generous in size. The smallest being 12 x 9 metres. The facilities are older but they are immaculate and checked daily. The camp has a small pool of good depth for the kids to enjoy and a well used playground. The staff are amazing. I had a bad injury the first evening and not only did they provide a fully equipped first aid kit, they came and visited us to make sure that we didn't need an ambulance. The whole space is incredibly friendly and it's a great way to meet people. The children all hang out together. It's a really awesome vibe. We loved it last year so we came back this year.
