We just had dinner about 20 mins ago. It’s a Saturday evening. Range of beers, wines, and spirits was good, and reasonably priced (cheaper than I thought they would be actually). Dinner was roast beef, ham, and chicken, with a nice variety of roast veggies plus gravy, plus desserts and well priced, and nicely laid out. This was our 1st visit to the club, as we were there with a group of friends as part of the Waikato Mustang Club. The Mercury Bay club has various social amenities and activities however, we were just there for the meal at this time. Staff were very friendly, and the sign outside said visitors are welcome, which we were certainly made to feel so. I would definitely come back again, and either with family or friends, or even for a evening for 2. This place deserved 5 Stars. A true local club in the heart of Whitianga. As legend would have it, The Mercury Bay club is the brain child of some local residents who had to contend with the local Pub one fateful evening running out of beer.
Not a group to take beer rations lightly, they BYO'd at the bottle shop and upon settling in the local park to drink the spoils, thought it was high time they had a club for locals to call their own, and the Mercury Bay club was born.

On the 28th of June Waitara District Services & Citizens Club 8 ball adjunct club traveled to Whitianga and had our pool competition against the Mercury Bay Club on the 30th of June.
