Accommodation was very handy to Picton Central lots off restaurants and shopping close by. Friendly hosts. Was told there was a small step into shower 24cm is not a small step at all very low chairs and toilet definitely not suitable for anyone who has mobility issues. Traveled with my mum who uses a walker when she asked about if there was any access units available they didn't even know what this was. I wish I had gone and looked at the room before paying as it was a flash back from early 70's possibly the beds were from the that Era aswell felt every spring. Was charged an extra $25 per night even though the room on web site says $190 for 2 adults. Stayed unfortunately for 8 days never again, has to be the worst accommodation we have ever stayed in. RED FLAG don't put yourself through this uncomfortable situation 😬😣 Toiletries was a joke only supplied a dispenser of had soap 1 on wall by basin the other was the same soap in shower (not fit for washingyour hair)they did not change sheets the whole time or step foot into room to top up coffee, remove rubbish, lucky there wasva bin out back door to empty room bin into. All linen was badly stained and...
Read moreNice looking place and the room was quite comfortable, as indeed it should be at NZD180, (£94 sterling). Breakfast is included in the price.|Breakfast finishes at 0900, (why so early?), but I forgot to set my alarm and arrived downstairs at 0915. My fault entirely for making a basic mistake when tired after a couple of days travelling. |I was told, "You've missed breakfast, the kitchen is closed and nothing is available." I said I would make myself a cup of coffee in my room but was told, "Don't make it in the room, we'll make it for you here". I didn't expect the kitchen to be opened for me but a piece of toast or a bowl of cereal would have been very much appreciated, especially as it had already been paid for. However, their hospitality extended only as far as a cup of lukewarm coffee.|I returned to my room, packed my bag and walked out into the rain thirty minutes later to look for breakfast elsewhere.|It's all about the money, regardless of how warm the welcome is. I would expect that treatment at a downmarket hotel chain but not a place that purports to be 'homely'. Very disappointed.|What a miserable end to my stay...
Read moreThe lady who owns/runs this place is a fraudster. We were charged by booking.com 7 days out from the stay. Then the owner cancelled our booking on the day of the stay. She claimed the payment hadn't gone through and was very rude about it when we called - "Do you want the booking or not?!" She requested debit card info over the phone which we gave, in order to confirm the booking. We checked the bank statement and found two charges - one from Booking.com and one directly from the property. When we checked in and calmly raised with her that we'd been charged twice she got incredibly defensive and said "No, that's impossible to be charged twice". We showed her both charges on the bank statement but she refused to acknowledge we'd been charged twice. She refunded us the second charge, but refused to let us stay. So end result is we've been charged for the accommodation but we've not been able to stay - on New Year's Eve too!||I'll be filing a police report because she's done this before judging from other google/trip...
