Tirohanga Track — Attraction in Marlborough

Tirohanga Track is centrally located in Picton, NZ, and provides a beautiful panoramic view of the town and Queen Charlotte Sound. It's an easy to moderate walk on a mostly-shaded dirt track - easy if the weather is fine and the track dry, moderate if wet and slippery. The track from Newgate St zigzags its way up to the top, about a 35-45 min walk depending on fitness. What a great view of Picton and the Sounds you are rewarded by on this track. It's a short and steepish climb up through regenerating bush which provided pleasant shade on a hot morning. There are glimpses of the outlook as you climb, but the best is at the top. It's quite stunning and well worth the effort to make the climb. Note that this walk can be done as a loop or as an out-and-back as there are two start points. This one is listed on Google or there is one at the end of Garden Terrace.
