Blue Marlin — Local services in Malakal

I can't say enough positive things about Blue Marlin. Two friends and I dove with them in May 2024. We had just emerged from ten days diving Palau on the Siren liveaboard, and from six weeks diving in Yap and the Philippines, so we arrived with lots of context for comparison. The back office operation is top notch: communicative, professional, and able to accommodate a gluten free diet for snacks and lunches. The dive operation was outstanding. We dove with Tomi. Collectively my friends and I have 4,000+ dives, and we agreed Tomi is the best divemaster we've ever dived with. It wasn't even debatable. In addition to excellent technical skills, a great demeanour, and deep knowledge of the dive sites, he seems to have an uncanny connection with the fish, pulling out all kinds of tricks we've never seen to attract them -- from schools of small fish to sharks. We visited sites we had dived already while on the Siren, and had better dive experiences, often because Tomi timed it so we were the only ones there (at Blue Corner and German Channel, in particular). Thank you Tomi-sun for sharing the best diving experiences in Palau. In regardless of the circumstances of the dive sites, Tomi is always able to lead us to the best dive: from Humphead Parrotfish spawning, school of fish in different species, sharks, rays, to gobies, anthias, dart fishes, shrimps, and many other things to be counted in. Tomi is very knowledgeable and attentive to details. He even creates a cute dive log at the end of every day. Thank you Stacy for driving the boat in the most thoughtful way by avoiding the tumbles of waves. We are also grateful that Stacy took us to play with a school of dolphins even though it was a small detour. Thank you Daichi-sun for picking up, dropping off us, and taking care of our gears all the time. Daichi is a lovely and friendly guide who made our journey even more enjoyable. Excellent diving experience at Blue Marlin all throughout the 2 days we dived with them. They are very attentive and professional in everything they do. They organised the day and the timings of the dive sites so that we could see the highlights of Palau without the crowds of divers; taking time to fully appreciate the different sites. I am so grateful to have dived with them as they made each dive so special, we even had a chance to see an ornate eagle ray at German channel!
