This is maybe 3.5 stars for Palau, but I rounded up. First, the good. It's a nice place to sit, with lots of tables, usually an okay breeze, fans, an indoor air conditioned area if you prefer that, some of the only Italian or Mediterranean food in Palau, and it's not crowded so it's peaceful; I know people who will go when they want to have a quiet, private meal. The veggies are fresh. It's open for lunch or a pretty early dinner. The bad: it has some of the worst service in Palau (and that's saying something), the food is extremely expensive, and the parking lot is small and a pain. As some examples, I was there for lunch and i ordered iced tea with refills which I ended up having to go get myself because I was seated inside and nobody ever checked on us. Another time i ordered food to pick up at a specific time, showed up at that time, and nothing had been done although when I asked they looked at some board in the kitchen and saw my order; I decided to reorder anyway, and my falafel cost $12.50, the falafel were small and burnt (smoky isn't a great flavor for falafel), and for my money I got one probably-defrosted mass produced pita with lots of lettuce, maybe six small pieces of falafel, a few tomato pieces, some small shreds of cucumber, and some glops of thick sauce that may have been a kind of hummus. The veggies were fresh. But anywhere else I'd get the same thing, with more sauce and tomato and cucumber, probably with fries, for half the cost. So it's a splurge when I need some variety or I want to sit somewhere pleasant and quiet, but it's not a go-to for me. Also, bring cash or plan to pay an extra 3% to pay by card (ugh!).
Oh, and for visitors I should note it's inside Fish n Fins, you park in their lot or nearby and go over to the left side. The building as you face it, you'll see the tables and chairs as you come around...
Read moreWe went there Sunday morning and tried Brunch Special. And yes they serve a special plated brunch set with salad and orange juice. Value for money. The meal was heavy and really filled our hungry stomach. Great food and ambiance, not crowded and lay back. The restaurant looks small but it was indeed spacious. They follow distancing measures for safety and comfort of customers. Left side was open and facing the ocean. It was a calm sunday, smelling the ocean, feeling the breeze while enjoying brunch. I want to come back and try their calzone and pesto pasta. BTW, we were 3 and we paid for 2 brunch only as they have promo order 3 brunch plate, and pay 2 only, so that's even better, really...
Read moreMy favorite place to eat in Palau 🇵🇼❤️ The food here is just amazing and all of the recipes that Tova comes up with there are so filling and healthy! My go to is either their burger which is my favorite burger on island and the Lasagna which is made fresh for you right then and there.
The ambience is another thing that makes Barracuda one of my favorite places in to eat in Palau as you can enjoy all this delicious food right by the water side looking out to the rock island southern lagoon.
15/10 will...
