Pizzeria Re Pomodoro — Restaurant in Bajo Boquete

This place makes a good pizza. The dough was a nice mix between tender inside and crispy on the outside (this was a reheated piece they had on display, I suppose the fresh pizza out of the oven has a more supple dough). Not too much tomato on it (which is a common mistake) and the cheese was a good mozzarella. Little flavor but nice and gooey. The pepperoni sausage slices were thin and few. The pizza had no oregano on it but oregano is being offered on the side. First time I see this. I consider this a mistake as the oregano's flavor is brought out by the heat in the oven much better than by the residual heat of the cheese. You get quite a bit of pizza for $8, which they call half a pizza and which is almost as large as a "normal"...

I had given up looking for a good thin crust pizza in Boquete so finding this Pizzeria was a pleasant surprise. The owner set the stage with a welcome greeting and assurance that his pizza rivaled that in Rome. I had the Meat Lover Pizza and my wife had a Pepperoni and both exceeded the owners promise and our expectations.
