I usually travel to many countries in South America, basically for Business. Yes. Im a corporate traveler for an American Company, located in Argentina. When you are a frequent traveler for business, people thinks that you are having meals in the best restaurants and sleeping in the best hotels, having the great life. Everything from those point of views are perfect. But...as a frequent traveler you have to deal with hours of eating alone or sleeping shortly due to movement between airports, just to mention some points.. Is, in these cases, when services pop up, and the type of services received are what make you a better travel and make you feel close to home. Due to unavailability in my preferred hotel chain in Asuncion (SPG) I have to stay at the Holiday Inn Express Aviadores. It took me one hour of staying to realize it was my first and last staying there.||I went to the check in counter to ask for a cash advance to pay for taxis. I have received the answer that there are no cash advances by policy. Then I asked for a taxi and requested to charge it to my account for the trip. I got the same answer. No policy allows us to do that. Today I have asked for a late checkout, and obviously It say that there is no possibility to do that today. in summary, This is a typical case where "Express", means "as is", which leads to no service at all. I have contacted the manager, and I got the answer "I have been attending corporate travelers for more that 20 yrs, and this is the first time someone claim for cash advance". with this answer it is obviously that no corporate or business traveler asked for that because they should not have business travelers. In summary, one hour was enough to decide not to stay in this hotel anymore.||The hotel is clean and it has the minimal amenities to stay, but combined with no services, i suggested not to stay if you are a...
Read moreThis express version of a Holiday Inn hotel does not meet the standards and expectations of this chain. The street noise in the room makes is quite intense, especially early in the morning. The windows are not noise protective at all and it seems like they are open. At least, the room itself is quite clean.
Breakfast selection is small. There wasn't even oatmeal, which would have been a good alternative from time to time. Only the sugared version of cornflakes. In addition, the atmosphere in the breakfast area is hectic and unpleasant. The buffet is too small for the many people and there is always something missing.
The gym is sufficient for cardio, but the multi-station is unsuitable for strength training as it hasn't been maintained and is of poor quality. At least there are dumbbells up to 25 kg.
The location itself is good. Restaurants, shopping malls etc. are within walking distance and the district seems to be quite lively and also relatively safe.
Reception staff is uncomplicated and supportive.
Unfortunately, the choice of good business hotels in Asuncion is limited. Therefore, I had no other choice...
Read moreWe were there for 8 nights for a convention at La Nueva Olla. The staff was excellente, from the front desk, housekeeping, and those who helped at breakfast area and kitchen. GRACIAS POR SU DURO TRABAJO! Room was comfortable and clean and the room rate was great for what you get. Walking distance to convenience stores like Biggies, Super Seis and pharmacies. There you’ll be able to find bottled water, snacks, food, medicines everything you will need so you don’t have to pack it. Also, Uber to the malls is conveniente. The carwash by day and biker restaurant by night is really unique and the owner is a really nice guy. They had live music Fri/Sat night which was cool, they played good live music from 80’s which was nice. My only thing is our room window was next to the busy street so it got loud at times but not a huge issue, we have been to NYC a few times and we can handle it and drowned it out. If not, ask for a room away from the street. :) Thank you all again at the Holiday Inn Express Asuncion Aviadores, we enjoyed our trip to...
