Hotel Tikary — Hotel in Arequipa

We arrived as walk-ins, so no previous reservation was made.||The assigned room was clean, but the pillows and mattresses were not in good conditions. They need to be replaced.||The 3rd night they were doing maintenance outside our room and left the room entrance dirty… We notified it to the staff at the reception but they did not do anything.||The 4th night we had a new room where pillows were better, but the mattresses still an issue.||The internet service was good in all the areas of the hotel. ||The location cannot be better (a block away from the main square)||The breakfast was terrible! The breakfast room is on the 3rd floor were it is too hot and fruits get ruined too fast. Besides that, the staff at the breakfast room replaces de food little by little... counting the pieces of bread one by one…not a good service.||We did the check-out early in the morning and left the suitcases in their storage. When we returned at midday to leave something else at the storage, the staff wanted me to pay for a towel that they said we stained.... I was not sure if the towel was the one I used due to I left the room too early ... I requested them to try to wash the towel and tell me if they could solve the problem or not before requesting me to pay, so they did. By the afternoon the towel was clean (they did not have any trouble to wash it)...||I travel to Arequipa often, but will never go back to...

From the moment we arrived at the front door we were impressed by the appearance of the hotel as well as the hospitality of the hotel staff. Our room was well maintained with a beautiful view of the city. The technology they use on the door entry system and the lights is very modern day and we were impressed with the cameras everywhere for security. Every single employee of this hotel that we had contact with were overwhelmingly friendly, courteous and helpful in every way possible. The breakfast was perfect with everything made fresh and the lunch that we ordered was made fresh on the spot including the mustard, ketchup, mayonnaise and juices. I cannot impress enough on you how much of a wonderful experience this hotel was but I can say this will always be our home away from home when we come to the great city...

Me quedo principalmente con 2 cosas: El servicio y el desayuno buffet. En cuanto al servicio me encanto que a pesar de las limitaciones , el personal te de alternativas y pongan todo su esfuerzo para solucionar inconvenientes. El primer día no fue muy agradable porque la habitación estuvo demasiado fría, parecía que tenía aire acondicionado ( lógicamente fue una sensación termica) pero ya la recepcionista nos ofreció un calefactor portátil. Me encantó ese gesto. Otro detalle que valore mucho y no olvidaré es que me guardaron 2 días las maletas porque viaje al valle del Colca y pagar habitación por esos 2 días me hubieran descuadrado el presupuesto. Me indicaron que podíamos guardar hasta por 30 días los equipajes. Lo mejor: Sin costo. Por otro lado, el desayuno buffet, espectacular. Planificamos nuestros tours para no perdernos esto. Ya que el desayuno es de 7am a 9am. Hay mucha variedad y todos los días varían. Nunca falta nada, porque van reponiendo constantemente. También aquí senti mucha amabilidad. Otros detalles importantes: Agua caliente , 5puntos. Tv por cable: Movistar. Buena señal. Ubicación, muy buena. Esta a una cuadra de la plaza principal. Afuera por 1.5 soles encuentras un exquisito emoliente para el frío, hasta cola hacen. Por mejorar. Primero la reservacion, estuvo demasiada fría, acá pueden orientar a las personas que la llevan a cabo. Por ejemplo: ¿Tiene habitación para....?, respuesta : si tenemos. Hecha la reserva, no recibimos confirmación salvo luego de nuestra insistencia y otra vez respuesta fría. Lo normal en otros hoteles una vez hecha la resrvacion es que te mandan todos los detalles, Ubicación en mapa, política de cancelaciones, atractivos de la ciudad, etc. Osea un plus nada difícil de aplicar. Otro tema, nos tocó la habitación en el primer piso, llegar un sábado día festivo, nos jugo en contra. Bulla toda la madrugada y los claxon de los autos no dejaron dormir. Las demás noches esto se disipó y ya dormimos más tranquilos. La habitacion basica aunque la cerradura y encendido de luces con tarjeta electrónica le da un realce especial. En los demas pisos hay más habitaciones , aparentemente mejor acondicionadas. En resumen, lindo lugar en donde si le sacas ventaja a lo que ofrecen (desayuno, guardiana de equipajes) vale lo pagado....
