I ordered the menu of the day for 13 Pen. Also, I am just a tourist here in Peru, so maybe this is normal for vegetarian places here. I don’t know!
But the food was just bad.
I want to be clear! the service and atmosphere were great! It was a very lovely place to, (potentially)eat dinner. And the servers were polite, friendly and service was quick.
HOWEVER.
The “Salad” was a small amount of canned carrots and beans with some boiled broccoli. (I know they say in other comments that they don’t use canned vegetables, but if this is true than they have found a way to make them seem canned, so. Which is worse? 🤷♂️)
The soup was pretty good.
The Pesto Pasta was inedible in my and my girlfriend’s opinions. We are both anti-consumerists and are very conscious of waste, but we couldn’t eat it. The pasta seemed unsalted and the “pesto” seemed to be unseasoned canned spinach which had been blended and had picked up some slight, strange, chemical flavor somehow. The cheese sprinkled on top was fine, but not enough to save the dish.
The maraquya juice seemed pretty watered down.
All that said, for the price of 13 Pen or $3.45 USD, it was not a genuinely upsetting experience, just a humorous one. I can’t recommend this place to anyone, but genuinely hope they can get a good menu going there, because the setting...
Read moreWe took the day menu for 12 soles pp. It was very basic but okay, that is what you pay for. While taking the order, the waitress asked us if we wanted to drink something. We felt pressured to take a drink since the menu is so cheap and ordered two juices for 16 soles. When receiving our food, we saw that all other guests with the menu got a green tea-like drink. I asked the waitress for explanation and she replied that when guests do not order a drink, they are given the free included drink. Needless to say, we felt cheated on. On the menu itself, no included drink is mentioned. The waitress should have told us from the beginning that a free drink is included. This felt very dishonest and we will not...
Read moreThis is such a lovely restaurant that we had to write a review! Incredibly reasonably priced - menu del dia is 10 soles for four courses - and it runs all day, which is not always the case. We ate here first for lunch and had a great meal, so returned one evening and ordered from the a la carte menu, which was also very reasonable and very tasty. The waitress was lovely and friendly - she helped to identify which courses were without gluten for my mother and remembered this when we returned. Cute place with good food and friendly people!
This is a vegetarian restaurant but as (occasional) meat eaters, we still...
