The "Palla" is a stylish boutique hotel in a historical building located not far from the Main Square. We had a spacious Junior Suite with a comfortable King bed and a nice terrace. The staff members - from reception desk to rooftop service - were lovely. I had used their laundry service and got so pleasantly surprised when the charge was per kilogram at a ridiculously low price compared to what I had paid in other hotels...||Breakfast is served à la carte on the rooftop terrace in the pleasant company of colibris and with a fantastic view of Arequipa and the surrounding volcanoes. ||Regrettably the restaurant had been closed during our 3-night stay. It is true that you can walk to all sorts of restaurants in less than 10 minutes but after a long drive it would have been nice to have dinner on site. As the restaurant had been listed among the hotel facilities the disappointing non-availability cost the hotel one point in my rating. Nevertheless we had a wonderful stay and I can wholeheartedly recommend...
Read morePositive: Very nice, authentic and comfortable room. Very spacious as well. The hotel itself is very good, with very good facilities. The staff is supportive and nice. Breakfast is good and ok quality (not high variety), with an amazing view over the city as it is on the rooftop. Location of the hotel is ok, less than 10 minutes walk from the city center.
Negative: It is a luxurious hotel, and you will feel very comfortable. However the high price, for Arequipa (Peru), is in our opinion not completely justified. When asking for the availability of the room the staff confirmed there was availability, however the booking had to be changed via Booking.com, which required us to eventually call to England (eventual total cost over 20 EUR for 3 calls), as it was not possible to arrange via the website or app and we had a time constraint. This was really NOT...
Read moreInconspicuous and refined with quality. No big sign; just a small one over the what seems like smaller front door. Our taxi pulled up and the quality service started. We did not even have to touch our suitcases. Whisked into the hotel, our 3-room reservation was ready and waiting. We got the welcoming feeling, that they wanted us to stay there, and after the obligatory copyying of documents, we were off to our rooms. Well appointed, spotlessly clean and well-sized; nothing more to ask for. Breakfast included - if there was anything I would suggest, it would be add some bacon or sausage to the breakfast. But other than that, for us a 5-star rating to the staff, the cleanliness and the impecable service. Thank you to all at the Palla Boutique Hotel for making our stay in Arequipa a wonderful experience - and only 3 blocks to the Plaza de Armas. Nothing more...
