We booked this hotel months in advance as part of a family trip to Cusco. At first, everything seemed fine. But when we returned after our Machu Picchu tour, things really fell apart.
They downgraded one of our rooms without telling us—a matrimonial room we’d reserved became a small, awkward setup with two mismatched beds. When we asked about it, they simply said there was no availability. No apology, no solution. It’s hard to believe they didn’t know in advance, which makes me think this wasn’t bad luck, it was bad planning.
Worse, the hotel didn’t have enough heaters or blankets. In Cusco’s cold nights, that’s not a small thing. We were told some heaters were broken, and there weren’t enough extra blankets to help. And through all this, one staff member named Anthony made it feel like it was our problem, not theirs. Everyone else tried to be helpful, but Anthony’s attitude stood out in the worst way—dismissive, unwilling to take responsibility, and just plain rude.
If you’re considering this hotel, I’d say be careful. The place itself isn’t terrible, but service like this—especially when it’s cold, late at night, and you’re traveling with family—can really ruin the experience. Watch out for last-minute room changes and definitely watch out...

Read moreHotel entrance is located in the middle of a hill/slope. So if you plan to go anywhere you will be walking uphill at something. The continental breakfast had super runny scrambled eggs one morning. On the other morning it had very overdone fried eggs. They offered cereal too but it was very bland. Lots of juice and fruit options though. Beds were comfortable. No warm water at all my 1st night. The 2nd night it would go in and out from warm to luke warm. It got pretty noisy at night for about a hr and a half or so because so many dogs outside were barking but it did settle down every night. Shades do not block light well so room gets light in morning. The staff were the best thing about the place. Always friendliness helpful. I did feel safe here and it is close to food and shopping but hills, hills, hills. I would not opt to stay here again. I personally like my showers warm and I really disliked...
