Artesonraju Hostel Huaraz — Hotel in Huaraz

While it's quite far from town the facilities and price make it worthwhile. The staff are pretty good with advice (only one bloke stpeaks English), the breakfast is the usual bread/jam affair, and the private rooms have their own bathrooms and super warm blankets. ||They had great hot showers but you appeared to have to ask them to turn it on (at least, every time we used it we had to tell them it was cold then ten mins later after they played with some kind of switch it came on). It sounded like they could only channel the hot water to a couple of bathrooms at a time which was really annoying. ||And a warning, if you get assigned to a second floor room ask to be moved immediately. None of the rooms have sound proofing and every morning at 5am people make a stupid amount of noise outside your door waiting for their tour to pick them up. We never had a good sleep on that floor, so...

Scheler the owner of the hostel so kind and nice, makes me feel welcome from the first moment. He have the cleanest Hostel that I saw in 6 months in Peru! The comfortablest bad, hot amazing shower (so important in Huaraz cold) and everything in such a fair price that I was really surprised when he told me the price! The hostel is like 18 min walking from the center, this the only disadvantage with the hostel but it's can be also advantage, it's close to beautiful mountains and the nature (that in the center of the city you can reach to the nature only with taxi or a long walk) and I went to travel in the mornings in the mountains and it was beautiful and powerful for me. Iam recommend about Scheler and his hostel...

Hidden gem in Huaraz. Scheler, Gloria and their staff are one of the nicest people I have met. Their kindness and willing to help is exceptional. The hostel itself is situated in very quiet area, some 10-15 minutes walk uphill from the center (S/6 by taxi from center). Super clean, spacious rooms with all the comfort and hot shower. Very comfortable beds with Wi-Fi and TV signal provided all the time.

On the top of all that, the 4th floor has terrace with magnificent view of the Cordillera Blanca mountain range.

You cannot find better service in Huaraz for such unbeatable price. I will definitely come back.
