Hotel El Huacachinero — Hotel in Ica

Overall we enjoyed our stay at El Huacachinero. Somethings we liked:||1. The highlight was it was quiet and relaxing. There were not many people in this hotel as the majority probably opt for a cheaper accomodation or stay where the party is. We were not here to party. Rather we want to relax and enjoy the scenery. This was the best place to do that. If you want to party you can still have the option to do that but come back to a nice quiet hotel for a good night sleep eventhough the hotel is sandwiched between two party hostels that had loud music and drunk people until 2am.||2. We had the whole pool to ourselves with the sand dune in the background. It was amazing. We were able to soak in the Oasis scenery while in/around the pool without loud noise and crowd. ||3. The hotel was modern, comfortable, and it has a character. The hotel is much nicer in person because on the pictures it looks older and more basic for some reason. Get the room by the pool. It has good view and terrace.||4. The staff was nice. ||5. Check out it at 12 which is later than most other accommodation. We were able to store our belongings after check out and hang out by the pool. ||Somethings that could be improved:||1. The pool jet is on only at certain times. It'll be nice to turn it on when you see people hanging out in/around the pool. That way the water is constantly moving and the debree from the trees doesn't just linger around. ||2. One of the couch in the room is dented in and looks broken. Too scared to sit on it. We only use it to put our bags.||3. The room could use a painting or two it was big and plain.||4. For the higher price compared to many other hotels/hostels around, it will be great if we can get more/nicer toiletries and/or breakfast. We only get a soap bar and a few sachets of shampoos. Breakfast was the usual continental breakfast. Nothing special. We need the small towels in the bathrooms for...

We booked a private room at the Huacachinero after staying one night at a party hostel the night before. The room was very basic for the price, but had air conditioning and offered a quieter experience—although the walls are thin.

Our biggest issue was the service at the restaurant. We ordered drinks while at the pool, which took over 40 minutes to make and came in glass wineglasses. When one of the wineglasses inevitably broke, the restaurant charged us for it. Then, we attempted to order lunch. There was a tour group eating at the same time and restaurant staff advised that certain menu items would take 20 minutes to make. We changed the order to a club sandwich to save time. When we checked on the status of the sandwich 40 minutes later, we realized they hadn’t even started it. We had to cancel the order at the hour mark to get to our tour, leaving us without lunch.

The hotel manager offered us two drinks on the house in return, which we ordered the next day. These drinks came out faster, although the restaurant worker we ordered from said she didn’t know how to make any drinks (yet works at the bar?)

I would like to add the pool area is really nice, pool is great, yet there is not shade nor umbrellas so when the sun hits, you only last about 20min without burning. The seats get very hot etc

Over all bad experience for the money, not worth the price and do not recommend...

I really liked the Hotel. It was really nice and quiet. The breakfast was good. However, I do not recommend this hotel. Be aware of this. We booked two tours one to the sand dunes and one to the Islas ballestas THROUGH the hotel. We figured it was better to spend a little more but go with someone we “thought” we could trust. First of all, they lie all around about the times and coming back on time. They confirmed and guaranteed we’d be back on time. Not true! Many other tourists were upset because we were coming back late and they were told something else. We needed to catch a bus so we got out the van and got a taxi. I forgot my bag in the minivan. When we called the hotel they reassured me that they would get my bag. Which they did. However, the stole all of our money. I didn’t realize this until I was dropped off at the bus station. I called the hotel and told them. They said they’d call me back. Never heard back from them and my whatsapp message was left on read. I’m extremely dissatisfied and disappointed at their lack of professionalism, integrity, and honest. They work with agencies that are unprofessional and unorganized. I would never recommend this hotel and their tour agencies to anyone. Worst experience...
