Hotel Sand and Lake Huacachina — Hotel in Ica

--- Our room was next to the kitchen so the smell in the room was terrible all evening since the hotel also operates a restaurant||--- The restaurant quickly turned into a pub with loud music, so it was very noisy until quite late (1-2am)||--- The staff were young and unexperienced and often answered rudely. Also one of them tried to take advantage of us by converting our dollars to soles and then back to dollars again to get extra money, so a room that was booked for ~30 dollars would have cost way over 50. In the end they didn't because of the other receptionist. Also when asked for a hair dryer the staff almost laughed saying no (very rude).||--- The pool is minuscule (2 meters square) and the water very cold so we couldn't use it.||--- The tour arranged by them for the buggy sand ride was with a really old buggy and seemed very unsafe. Pésimo servicio y comunicación interna del hotel. El día martes me dirijo a Huacachina a preguntar precios del hospedaje y me atendieron en la recepción dándome un precio para el fds con todos los detalles. Al día siguiente volvi al lugar ya que sus precios me parecieron geniales y cuando llego no estaba dicha recepcionista por lo que me atendió un joven, al cual le expliqué todo lo que coordiné el día anterior. El joven me explicó que era extraño el precio que me ofrecieron por el fds pero que llamaría para corroborar la información. Luego de unos minutos le dieron el visto bueno y me acerqué a cancelar a la caja. El día sábado 28 me acerco en la noche para dirigirme a la habitación del hotel que había reservado y grata es mi sorpresa cuando en la recepción no me dejan acercarme diciéndome que había ocurrido un error y que ese precio era imposible para el fds a lo cual le expliqué que vine tres días antes y que ese fue el precio ofrecido; incluso le dije: volví al y día siguiente y un joven llamó para comprobar el precio y le dijeron que sí. El recepcionista entro a hablar con un posible dueño y salió diciéndome que había ocurrido un error de comunicación, lamentaban lo ocurrido pero no podrían darme una habitación a ese precio, con lo cual obviamente me enfureció ya que llegaba corto de tiempo por el toque de queda y me hizo pasar un mal rato en la recepción cuando yo coordiné todo previamente para evitar errores. Luego de hacerme esperar varios minutos, volvió diciéndome que me iban a dar la habitación si pagaba un extra ($) con lo cual no esta de acuerdo ya que habíamos acordado ya previamente algo y no me pareció justo que sus malos entendidos me afecten a mi. Al final de todo termine quedando en Carola Lodge que es mucho más caro en realidad que este lugar pero donde recibí una atención al cliente de calidad. El dinero no era problema para mí, pude pagar un lugar más caro pero la forma en como me hicieron sentir incómodo, me hicieron perder el tiempo y las terribles soluciones que me dieron pese a que era su problema me pareció de verdad terrible. De verdad no recomiendo este lugar ya que fue pésima su forma de actuar hacía mi persona y ese mal rato que pase nadie me lo quita.

Pdt: Pidan el libro de reclamaciones ante cualquier inconveniente como este, ellos me devolvieron el dinero que pague por una noche y creen que con eso lograrán arreglar algo del pésimo servicio que tienen🤮.

Don't come here for the complimentary breakfast. It consists of three untoasted sliced of bread and not enough butter and jam to cover them. It also comes with ersatz coffee that tastes and smells nothing like the real thing and really is undrinkable. The rooms are ok, they're clean enough, but have no AC and hold in the heat. The provided fan works overtime to little effect and sleeping in is really not possible once the sun is up. The only thing saving this place is the location, as it is situated right on the water. Given however that price per room is three times more expensive here, than in town two kilometers away, it is better to stay outside of the oasis and just walk or use taxis/jeepneys to visit the lake and the sand, without actually staying at Hotel...
