If your book at this hotel change your reservation. I stayed here for two nights it was the worst nights of my whole 3 wk vacation. And if your booking says breakfast included. It's wrong they do not serve breakfast there. This hotel might have been Gran at one time 150 years ago. But it sure isn't Gran now. I tried to give it to benefit of the doubt because of its age. But it's just disgustingly dirty. It is so loud cuz it's on the Main Street all you hear is the honking of horns. I woke up at 6 a.m. to something gnawing on my elbow. It was dark I couldn't see what it was but I sure felt it and knocked it off and I still have the scab on my elbow today 5 days later. The second night I slept with the lights on only for a few hours because my plane was leaving at 3 a.m. and I was fully dressed and when I woke up I had bites on my legs. I even made them change the mattress because of mattress was so disgustingly dirty. They replaced a mattress with another old mattress that they had recovered. I was only the only tourist in the area. So soon as I walked out of the hotel everybody on the street staring at me. The cab driver when he pick me up at Cusco airport didn't even want to bring me there you told me to be very careful and that I should change my reservation and go to the plaza de arm area. If you're going to stay in Lima stay in the miraflores area. I stayed there the first two nights of my trip and walked all over the place it's absolutely beautiful with its Park. The only reason I stayed at the Grand Central Lima for the last two nights on the way home was because I wanted to see the historical buildings but when I went on the free walking tour I realized it was the same to her I had already done when I was in the miraflores area. If I would have known that I would have stayed in the Miraflores area. I wouldn't even walk Barefoot on the carpet in the room because it was so dirty. And it was a big square hole in the top of my bathroom over top the toilet I can hear someone up there cleaning the room I was afraid to use the toilet won't cuz I didn't know if somebody could see down. By all means do not stay here trust me. I've never in my life left bad review like this and I've...
Read moreThe rooms were overpriced. I got basically a hostel type room with 3 beds and they charged me for the whole room rather than one bed. I finally got a private room with a sink and no bathroom for 50 soles a night that had Wifi.||||The place is old, but pretty cool and they are working on it. The staff is great, but doesn't speak english.||||The area for me is great. But, I am retired military and used to rougher areas of town than most tourists. Across the street is no place to wander at night. ||||BUT!! 4 blocks from Plaza San Martin and Plaza de Armas which are both spectacular with great restaurants surrounding them. Incredible historical buildings all over the area with tons of good restaurants, both cheap and mid range.||||You are a big novelty as a tourist in this area of town. People are VERY friendly and helpful, particullarly if you speak some spanish (you have to down here). A big METRO supermarket is nearby. No kitchen to cook in, but you can get a great Won Ton soup at many places aroudn the corner for like 1.25 US. ||||Overall for me, I had a great time here and thank the stafff for their...
Read moreWe got a triple on booking.com for about 110 soles a night. It was a triple with shared bathroom. No tv, and the place is an old spanish house which definitely needs remodeling, but the location if youre there to visit old historical Lima is one of these best. Abancay is a main street in Lima so once you exit the place youll feel the full life of Lima hit you. Lots of traffic and people, but one of the main walking streets is right up the street which is convenient. Leaving the hotel you turn left and walk about a block and youll run into it. As for the hotel, theres nothing really amazing about it except that its 160...
