When you are charging more than similar establishments, the service needs to make the difference. In this case, it did not. However, this hotel is good for anyone who needs to be downtown. It's only a few blocks from the immigration office and there are plenty of restaurants nearby.
What we liked: The hotel was clean and the bed comfy. They have Netflix and other TV apps available. The elevator worked, and breakfast was available.
What we didn't like: front desk help. Actually, during our three days there, there was a man and a woman. The man was helpful; the woman, not so much. First of all, she told us that breakfast would start at 7am, so we planned to eat and go straight to our 8am appointment. However, when we entered the dining room, we were informed that it would not be available until 8 . . . so we went to our appointment with no breakfast. Had we been properly informed, we could have prepared and picked up something the night before.
The first day, we did leave the hotel and asked the woman how to go about getting a cab. She said to download Uber (!!!). That was NOT helpful. Later on we found out (from the man) that not only could she have called us a cab but the hotel actually has their own cars (which we gladly took to the airport when we left—the gentleman kindly arranged it for us). The female desk attendant could have at least given us a number to call or suggested one of the other taxi apps that we later found out were available for the area. It's a pity that one staff member gave such excellent service and the other was a huge...
Read moreThe front desk staff were nice and helpful. There was a hair dryer and a mini fridge in the room which was nice. There's also a free water refill station on the 4th floor, along with free coffee and tea. There's a currency exchange place around the corner across from Scotiabank, as well as a bodega. The hotel is also walking distance to shopping, food, and Lima Plaza. They will arrange airport transportation for $20USD/80Sol if you need that. I thought the mattress was hard, and the pillows were flat. The road noise/honking is VERY loud and it NEVER stops. Sleep is so important, especially when traveling, and unfortunately it isn't something you get at this hotel.
Maybe the worst offense was that I had the do not disturb sign on the door and someone came into my room while I was out. They didn't clean the room or make the bed, but they did move the chair and pillows, opened the curtains and moved my suitcase; nothing appeared to have been taken. Did someone sneak in? Did housekeeping ignore the sign, come in, move things around but not clean? Who's to say, but I certainly felt uneasy after that and I was glad to have locked up my belongings before I...
Read moreWe stayed just like 12 hours in the hotel but it was a great experience. From the check-in until we checked-out early this morning, the reception was super sweet, friendly, and nice. The service is totally top notch.
Location The location is great. It is close to the bus stop and taxis stop. You can find supermarkets, traditional markets, and city attractions within walking distance. Room The room is spacious, clean, and tidy. The bed and pillows are comfortable. The hot water works perfectly fine. The AC is also cold during our stay. The single bed is quite small for 2 people if you are a big and tall person. Since we were not, it was fine for us. WIFI connection is stable. TV is working well. Breakfast is normal. They packed our breakfast because we must go to the airport at 06:00 The lady also helped us to book a taxi. Entrance accessible for wheelchairs.
Cons If you search for a quiet room, this hotel probably is not for you. Since it is located on the main road, you can listen to the noise all night. We were so tired after our flight from Portugal, we fell asleep. Everything was perfect for us. Our room was on...
