Hostel Lima — Hotel in Lima Metropolitan Area

We stayed here for two nights in the private bedroom, and I felt I should leave a review as there was both pros and cons! I realise that the hostel is cheap and therefore will not be perfect, but I think there are basic standards that have not been met. ||Pros: Breakfast was nice, the common areas have a chilled vibe, great WiFi everywhere, great location, walking distance of everything and feels like a safe area, Big flat screen TV with Netflix was amazing..|However we definitely felt the cons outweighed the pros.|Cons: the private bedroom feels like it was a storage room changed into a bedroom, the bathroom is completely damp (floor was always wet and walls and roof very grossly damp), there is a large pipe in the bathroom that seems to have water very noisily gushing through it from all the other bathrooms above ours, the bedroom door has a large gap in it, the small windows had bars on them, and then the biggest con of all was when we saw the mattress on the bed (sidenote: we don't purposely look at mattresses, we just accidentally saw the mattress when the sheet got tugged) it was filthy dirty. The next morning I woke up with ten bites on my legs I don't know if it was bed bugs but the state of the mattress would lead me to think that it was!||We didn't see the dorm rooms, they could be lovely. |We've been in much nicer rooms...

The web site photos were not the same as our bedroom. The location at our bedroom was in past the laundry room. The room was sketchy and looked like they split a basement apartment and threw some touch-and-go flooring down it had a bathroom, a door that seemed to be locked that went directly outside and a closet with a couple of nightstands and a chair. After exploring Lima , we returned to our room and there was a lot of bugs flying near the light and even on the bed. When we went to ask to change rooms the receptionist explained that since there was no one else on our new floor, we did not have to share the "shared bathroom" and so the price would be the same as our current room, which was more expensive at the time of our booking. After a while of her trying to communicate with the owner (I presume) we gave up and accepted the "bugless room" on the second floor with no bathroom attached to get some sleep for the following day which began at 5h40 am. Horrible hostel. I booked a private room. It was really dirty and old. The sheets weren’t refreshed after the previous guest!!! Napkins and long hairs in between the blankets. I went back to reception 3 times, nobody there. When checking out i found out that my friends had towels in their room.. I didn’t. Also, i don’t think they clean the Floor. It was dusty also. Breakfast i just Bread with jam or cereals. I skipped because it didn’t looked good. They refused giving a discount.. after a while arguing they gave just a little discount. Highly not...
