Last minute stay, contacted the hotel by WhatsApp to arrange airport pickup and it was sorted out quickly and for the same price that you will get a taxi at the airport but with the benefit that as soon as I exited the airport someone was waiting for me with my name (the driver Javier (?) was great and very punctual). Check inn was very easy and the young lady, Sarai, was so attentive and went above an beyond: she even coordinated for me to get a to go breakfast as I was leaving very early next day, all this without asking. I got a room in the first floor with a huge king bed (I choose a single room with twin beds but somehow got this). Bed was OK and the room had everything that I needed. The restroom was a bit ackward as the toilet was in a tiny corner that made it a little bit difficult to use but Im so glad that there was hot water because Lima was very cold those nights and there are no heaters in the room so it was really cold inside. There is free tea outside which was great to combat the cold. The free breakfast really impressed me: big fruit plate (pineapple, papaya, banana), fresh juice, hot beverage including lovely cappuccino, and choice of eggs (got a huge vegetable omelet) and homemade bread. The hotel is like 4-5 blocks from the Plaza and from there you can join several tours including Free Tours but also you can wander around and just discover stuff,, walk till you get to the Pacific (less than 10 minutes) and admire the street art. I was travelling solo and felt comfortable just having regular precautions. I also coordinated transport back to the airport (at 3:30am!) and once again, Javier was there on time. Overall service was very good as well as breakfast, the location was convenient and the...
Read moreThis is yet another super location to stay while in barranco. The character of the building and the kindness the staff offers is superb compared to larger hotel chains.
The included breakfast with the stay is fantastic! Fresh fruit, fresh puree, a coffee and a choice of five different menu items with eggs. It's just unbelievably worth the value.
There is a shared bathroom but it still has a door and a lock if that's a deal breaker for anyone. There's also a second bathroom that's just a single use so basically it's not much different than having a room with a bathroom inside of it.
I suppose it depends on when you book, but the room I got was only $30 USD and this is a great price compared to some of the options in the area. It can't go without saying the location couldn't be any better. It's not quite in the middle of everything, but it's also only about 10-minute walk to get...
Read moreRooms smell terribly as a very moldy place. Like it was locked without sun light for ages and it’s a cellar. Same smell follows all second floor and breakfast room. Beds are clean but when you lie down it’s very humid and have this kind of damp feeling. Very uncomfortable. Breakfast is without eggs. Just toasts and juice. But overall place looks great, rooms are spacious and have high ceilings and wide windows. Tho sounds from the busy street in front of hotel get very nosy. Shared bathrooms are clean and nice. Price is not reasonable at all for that place. I read a review on booking about mold smell from June 2017, and they replied they’ll take care of the problem. And guess what, it’s Jan 2018 and the room stinks unbearably. We had to open a window and turn on 2 fans for the whole night to be able...
