I was walking to a breakfast spot thismorning when I was passing by Arepa Cafe, I met Mike and his team who were describing the food to me. We had some fresh guacamole with cheese sticks, pineapple juice which tasted like a melted shaved ice from Hawaii. The empanada was the absolute best I’ve ever had in my life, freshly made with corn exterior and the juiciest meat inside. The chicken salad with avocado and imported Gouda cheese was out of this world. I ate a ton of food my two weeks in Cusco and Lima and had some unbelievable meals, this place jumped to the top of the list. I will not ever visit this city again without stopping here for food. Absolutely unbelievable taste, can’t say enough good things about the food, and the staff that took care of us. I’m surprised there isn’t a line around the corner. DONT SLEEP ON THIS SPOT! Promise it will be the best meal you have.

Service and atmosphere are wonderful they are extremely helpful. Got the pabellon arepa which they said was the most popular which is a pulled beef with beans arepa and the llanera con queso mano which is steak with a special Venezuelan cheese. Preferred the steak one better the cheese was great. Overall found the food a little underwhelming in flavour but my bias may be that I’m not a big arepa person. Also got the papelon con limon for our drink which was awesome and strangely reminded me of a classic drink from back home in South Asia. Overall Still worth trying for a quick and easy bite. We were both definitely full. Paid 70 sols after tip for two arepas and one drink.

Great place to grab fresh made, authentic, Venezuelan food. They have menus in both English and Spanish. I stopped by for lunch. I was hungry and after talking with another customer. I ordered 2 Arepas. They came out piping hot and were filled just as described. They were not chintzy on the fillings. For me the 2 Arepas were the perfect amount. I was full but not too full. They also bring out 3 sauces. None of them are hot. One tastes like Guacamole. Not sure what they were. Like the food they were very good. I had no trouble getting a seat right away at lunch time on a Saturday. But be aware there are not very many tables. I will gladly eat here again.

If you want an easy snack, this place hits the spot, the staff are really great. We came here twice and we loved it both times. The Vegetarian option tastes even better if you ask them to add onions and ask for cheese on the side and sprinkle as and when you like. The cheese tastes better unmelted also. They give you 3 wee containers with lovely sauces which turn the Arepa onto the next level.

We ordered 5 takeaway GF widows to take back home :)

Also if you like sparkling water as a drink ask nicely for some lemon juice and they will give it to you in a wee container for as and when you want to add to the water. The food takes about 15-20 minutes to prepare so enjoy the company you are with. It is not a fast food place so enjoy the wait :) It is lovely to eat here as it is a place the locals love and the food is super fresh :) We noticed gym goers from behind the café, come here alot and the owner is discreetly present ( they mentioned the widows ).

Arepas are namely Venezuelan, Colombian, Panaman but great to eat the Venezuelan version in Peru. The Avocado in Peru are just the 👌🏽

The forever smiley staff are brilliant, so show them love with a...
