Location: We initially had reservations about the location of the hotel next to a highway, but the road is minimally audible in the room. In fact we got a much better night sleep than in a previous posher hotel closer to Miraflores, where people were honking their horns all night! |There is a supermarket and small shopping centre just five minutes’ walk from here - very useful.|The metro station is also less than a five minute walk away.|The neighbourhood itself is decent, we felt safe walking at night to the supermarket etc.||Room: The room is clean and surprisingly spacious. The bed is comfortable. No kettle in the room but they do bring up hot water for you in a teapot on request. There is a safety deposit box and a mini fridge. |The bathroom could do with better ventilation. AC in the room is quite loud but we were grateful it’s there!||Hotel: The breakfast is prepared in the kitchen from a menu rather than a buffet, which is quite nice (freshly made food). |The reception staff spoke good English when we arrived and were very helpful.|There is no lift in this hotel - this was ok for us as the steps are a lot more manageable than all the steps in Cusco and Machu Picchu! But beware if you have accessibility issues to request a ground floor room. ||Overall it is a good clean hotel and I would probably stay again, especially given its price compared to other hotels...
Read moreAVOID THIS SCAM AT ALL COSTS. THEY WILL TRY AND MAKE FALSE DAMAGE CLAIMS. I booked a room that was $30 a night here. The room was nice, clean, bathroom had obvious work to be done but it was really nothing bad. The beginning of what later turned out to be a MAJOR issue with this “hotel” all started at checkout. I asked if I could store bags here for 2 hours and he said it would costs 12 (what I assumed were Sols) well when I handed him a 50 he gave me 10 sols back... that’s 12 U.S dollars... for two hours, at almost half the cost of one night in the hotel. But it only got worse from there. When I got home I was notified by the agency I booked the hotel through that there was a damage claim filed by the hotel owner. The owner was requesting over THREE THOUSAND DOLLARS for a few stains on the bed sheets left from when I opened a bottle of wine next to at the table next to the bed and some spray went flying. I was really shocked, especially because this man had already given me such a bad feeling after taking so much money for bag storage. These people are trying to take advantage of tourists. They are criminals. On the booking agency, there were other complaints of being charged for damage that was already there, and money being stolen from the room. Do you want to feel taken care of when you stay at hotels not taken advantage by people abusing a system. Shame on...
Read moreThe room was freezing cold, there was no heater in room. When I arrived at midnight, the big window was opened entirely. It wasn’t clean at all, no sheet for the quilt, spotted carpet and sandy floor ( because the window blew in the sand) They charged a cleaning fee and the hotel has never cleaned my room during my stay of 7 days . I don’t know why I need to pay for cleaning fee? They never taken out the garbage, only provided toilet paper, towels, shampoo and soap on the first day. No hairdryer in the room. For mentioned reasons, the host shouldn’t call his property “a hotel”. The facility description included jacuzzi which was not working and needed an extra charge of 18USD. Leaving luggage in hotel also need a charge of 12 USD which is so stingy. The only good thing is there are people watching the door for 24 HR. The hotel staff Bryan is...
