El Paititi Hotel — Hotel in Machu Picchu

I recently stayed here with my mother for a night before going to Machu Picchu.|The positives:|1. The room itself was great, the beds were comfortable and clean|2. It is very well located - no need to go up any hill too much, it's less than 10 minutes from the bus stop and is in a quieter street|3. They gave us a packed breakfast since we were going up the mountain too early and we're going to miss breakfast, which was lovely (I know people who had to pay for this. We didn't)||The problems:|1. the hotel staff was not organised, one of the people at the front desk couldn't do anything including taking our payment (which had to be done the previous day since we were checking out at 4am)|2. The bathroom was of a very different standard than the room|3. Some of the rooms did not have windows to the outside, but to the hallway|4. The power sockets were...

Staying at this hotel was a bizarre and largely disappointing experience. Though not advertised when booking online, our room’s only window opened onto the hotel lobby on the ground floor. Literally straight onto the lobby. It was two feet away from the tables people sit at for breakfast. For any privacy we had to keep the curtains closed, and even with the window closed we were disturbed by the sound of comings and goings all night. When upon arrival we asked if perhaps a room with an actual window was available, this was dismissed with no attempt made to ameliorate the situation.

The room in other regards was fine for the price. I’m sure if you get a room on the upper floors Paititi could be a thoroughly adequate hotel, but if you’re allocated one of the 4 or 5 downstairs rooms it leaves much...

Hotel included in the MP tours. Well they first gave me a room on the ground floor, no window, smelling like mold, right next to the counter. I asked to change. Insanely noisy, walls so thin that I even got scared everytime someone entered their room, I thought they were getting into mine ! Water barely warm, and very old place that needs renovation ! Photo : lamp clearly broken, why do they even bother leaving it here ? A joke ! Average breakfast with coffee not refilled (!) and NOT enough room to sit...
