Room is clean and beautifully renovated but no A/C or heat. This was not a problem for me as I visited in March when the temperature outside was very pleasant.
The hotel staff do not speak much/any English but they are very accommodating and eager to provide assistance. Hotel is located at the far end of town but Aguas Calientes is very small so everything is centrally located. I was not bothered by the close proximity to the train station since trains do not run during the night when guests are asleep.
I felt very comfortable leaving valuables in the room despite the absence of a lock box. They even allowed me to leave my luggage in the room for pickup after my hike to Machu Picchu. There were a limited number of staff and all were extremely trustworthy.
Cons: Only enough hot water for ~1\2 a shower and it took a long time to heat up. Seriously deficient. Elevator was out of service OR turned off to save electricity. Unable to connect to wifi in the room though it worked well...

We also tried to return our room key after we saw the bugs and could not find anyone at the front desk for over 45 minutes, this was around 8:45pm. Eventually we got fed up waiting because we had to wake up at 3:00am the next morning. Additionally, wifi did not work well in the rooms only in the lobby.
I would not recommend staying here! There are plenty of hotels in the area with better accommodations...

Small bathroom ,waterfall shower .Hot water took it's time to arrive through the pipework but then was VERY hot. No heating. No spare blankets but sufficient cover on bed to create a warm cocoon. Windows to hallway(not obscure glass) to outside (not double glazed) Clean and neat. Rather meagre breakfast. Slept very well on firm bed with the sound of the roaring torrent of the river so close. I could see the trains from my window(and hear them)!!! Just outside, to the left, are steps and platforms overlooking a waterfall and the station/train lines/shunting area!!!!! One night as part of...
