The Posada Del Elmancipador is located on the edge of the town of Paracas, but only a short 5 minute walk from the restaurants and shops. It is a set of 4 story buildings and our room, 302, had a very nice view of the water.||||Check in was quick and friendly, but don't expect a lot of English. The Google translate APP that was downloaded on our phones came in handy.||||The room itself was fairly large and had a very big and comfortable king size bed. The room had a safe, mini fridge, and a flat screen TV. Also, there was a balcony with table and chairs. However, the problem was that everything had a very “worn out” look and feel. I am sure that it was once a very nice hotel, but now is in need of some serious updating. The floor tile is stark white and was dirty. There were no shelves in the bathroom, the curtains were worn and even the pictures on the wall were crooked. There were cracks in the dry wall, and we could not get the heater in the room to work.||||The breakfast buffet had lots to offer, but the quality of the food was poor. The scrambled eggs were runny, the juice was watered down, and the pancakes were cold.||||There aren't a lot of choices of hotels in Paracas, but this...
Read moreThe hotel looked nice when we first arrived but after staying 2 nights, there were many problems. The doors can be locked from the outside so anyone can lock you in your room which is so unsafe. The WiFi only works in the lobby and barely works anywhere else (we stayed on the first floor near the lobby and it still didn’t work). There was a concert across the street the second night we stayed and it was extremely loud with the bass shaking the walls and music blasting the entire time from 8 pm to 2 am. When we went to ask the front desk how much longer this would be going on, she was rude and offered no explanation saying that it could be another hour or so. The food at the restaurant was nothing special and was not worth the price we paid for it. We also found large spiders in our room. While the location is great, the hotel has little to offer. I do not recommend staying here when...
Read moreArriving in Paracas on the first night away from Lima of our Peruvian Tour is a bit of a culture shock. The Emancipador is a reasonably attractive looking hotel from the outside. The rooms were large but basic. There does not appear to be any soundproofing in any of the walls so it can be quite noisy. When we awoke to have a shower at 06:00 AM we discovered that a water pipe had broken so there was no water. They did get it repaired reasonably quickly but not soon enough to fit in a shower before our departure. The included breakfast was not one of the best that we had on our tour. We only had a dessert at the restaurant, but again it was not very good. The location is good as it is near the ocean and not far from where one catches the tour boats to the...
