Hotel Gran Palma Paracas — Hotel in Paracas

We booked a premium double room (with a sea view), for just under $80 a night, as it had an AC. Having seen the premium room, I shudder to think what the regular room looked like. The first room we were given looked okay, but as soon as the AC was turned on, the room began to smell of fart (I wish I was joking)! The reception provided us with an alternative room which did not have an adverse odour, and that was fine.||||The TV did not work (not that it mattered a whole deal). The room was quite small and had an (empty) minibar, bed, closet and chair. The bathroom was pretty basic, but had plenty of hot water in the shower.||||The sea view from the room was actually a street market. If you strain your eyes you may be able part of the ocean, but that's it. Breakfast however, is on the rooftop, where there are decent views of the ocean. The breakfast staff are very polite. The food is Peruvian and heaps of it. The coffee is pretty good as well.||||The ground floor has a small pool and bar, but we didn't use it.||||The location is decent (on Paracas' main street), but in terms of value, look at the options recommended by Peru Hop, as I think you may get more...

Booked a room over a month before, when we arrived we were told they didnt have the room we booked, they only had a cheaper one available. We accepted this, but once on our new room there was no air con controller. Asked at reception and were told that none of the air conditioning units worked as they were not maintained? Despite us booking this hotel specifically because it said the rooms had air-con. Receptionist showed us several rooms with air-con units but none of them worked, so just false advertising then? Apart from this, the rooms were tiny we could hardly open our suitcases. The bathroom shower curtain didnt go all the way down meaning whenever you showered the whole bathroom got flooded. Also the two towels we were given both had blood stains on them and hairs all over the bed. Overall then a terrible experience. Considering this was not the cheapest place to stay in the area i expected much better....

Budget friendly option. The location was quite decent, within walking distance both from the bus station and to the boat pier. The room was pretty new and clean but very small and basic only. There was hardly any room for luggage on the floor. Even the TV was mounted on the ceiling. The en suite bathroom was even smaller. There were noises from the restaurants and shops by the beach in the late afternoon. The panoramic view from the roof top was really nice, and the breakfast was served there too. The breakfast was only okay though. The staff at the reception was very friendly...
