Excellent quality food, cocktails and beautiful view of the beach, boats and sunset. This restaurant was exactly what my mother and I were looking for out of a sea view restaurant in the small town of Paracas. After a walk along the beach, we settled on this spot to watch the sun set from its second floor lookout. I am usually quite apprehensive of the quality of oceanfront restaurants but this place did not disappoint. The classic ceviche was full of flavor and evidently very fresh even though we are currently in the low season. This next part may seem like a random detail but being that the fish is marinated in lime… as someone who has worked in many restaurants in Vancouver, Chicago and NYC, I was struck by how intensely flavorful the limes were! The arroz con lagostinos was also excellent — a traditional Peruvian rice dish full of flavor with shrimp cooked to juicy perfection. Finally, not to be missed are the pisco sours here which were excellent as well and on happy hour (I asked for them less sweet as this is how I prefer them), I particularly loved their maracuya (passionfruit) spin on the original. In terms of view… my mother and I were lucky enough to snag the one outdoor seat on the second floor and got to enjoy the diverse stages of a Paracas sunset from silver-sheened pre-sunset to golden glow shimmer, to melting oranges over the waves and boats, to the back-lit misty glow of the island’s hills in front of us. The decor was hip and the waitstaff friendly. One last detail I will highlight is the tranquility of this place. It did not blast any obnoxious music, so one was really able to take in the peacefulness of the ocean waves (and the zealous rooster a couple doors down who I honestly loved lol). If possible, definitely spring for a table with a view, but even views aside, I would highly recommend this restaurant for the quality...
Read moreThis place is awesome for several reasons. (1) the food is really good and fresh, you can choose your fish yourself. (2) definitely the best ceviche we had in Peru (and we had quite a few!) (3) the people who work there create a really nice atmosphere, you can tell that they like working there. Even the owner is out and about. (4) we had the "inka popcorn" (forgot the name) and they helped us find a place to buy some as a souvenir. Thanks again!
We celebrated our last evening in Peru here and definitely DID NOT regret it :) I can wholeheartedly...
Read moreThe restaurant was packed when we arrived at 3.30 pm. Although we waited almost an hour for the food we had a great time there with a Pisco sour (2 for one) at the start. We had the grilled octopus and the mix with ceviche, fried fish and seafood and rice mixed with seefood and fish. All very good. The seafood mixed in the rice was a bit chewy, but all in all good food and even the white wine by the glas was very well drinkable. Claudia did everything to make our stay super nice. She definitely has the “service gene”, that customer- focussed people...
