Pacha Suite Puno Peru — Hotel in Puno

The hostel is basic but it’s what you’d expect for the price you pay. As we were travelling with Peru Hop, we weren’t flexible with our arrival time so got there at approx 6am. We completely understand it may be difficult to offer an early check-in off the whim, but we were under the impression that early check in was something they could offer, however staff were not willing to help in anyway - not even when there were 15 people queuing for the only toilet. Instead they informed us check-in would be 12:30pm but it could be later. After a long coach journey, we had the prospect of being ‘stranded’ for around six hours, which wasn’t ideal as nowhere outside was open. We had booked our Lake tour at 4pm, for the main reason that we thought the hostel offered early check in. Thankfully we were able to amend our tour time but at an extra cost which was annoying! I got this hotel booked via the Bolivia Hop bus company. On their website it said it was a hostel were you share a room, but they only have private rooms for multiple persons. So it's more of an hotel then a hostel. The rooms are old and the bed's are covered with old sheets. So not really comfortable, but all the basics are there including a hot shower. It's quiet place and I had a good night's rest and that's the only positive thing about it. There is also no breakfast included or anything like a bar. Clean, affordable and well located, the hotel was very accommodating when we unexpectedly had to stay an extra night. They were very patient with our basic Spanish and were able to give us vital information when we need to rebook a local bus. The accommodation was basic but comfortable and warm (especially good for the chilly nights!). The stay also included a basic breakfast which is great if you are suffering with the altitude.
