I normally enjoy staying in the Palm Hotel Manila but last 2 times in January and February of 2025 I started to notice some things were different and it mainly involves the staff. In January when I stayed there for approximately a week and a half they put me on the 10th floor and there was construction going on right above my room. The hotel wasn't full so not sure why they did that but it was very noisy and would wake me up early every morning. I also noticed some of the new staff, mainly at check in counter, were not very friendly and kind and actually talked to another person staying there who had been there many times and he felt the same way. Although some from the new staff were great and friendly and kind the others were more worried about being on their cell phones rather than doing their jobs. One of the new security guards would just sit there when I would go to the doors while the ones before always opened the door. I don't like writing bad reviews but one of the breaking points to make me write this was when I had 3 bags in my hands and was struggling to get the door open and the entire time the security guard sat there about 2 meters away just focusing on his cellphone. The second and final thing that made me write this review was on my last day there, after staying there 2 different times in a month for a total days of almost 2 weeks and spending a fortune there and always being kind and tipping the employees, was when I went to the check in counter and explained that my transportation wasn't going to be available until later in the evening and asking if I could have a late checkout of 2pm. I explained that the housekeeper normally didn't clean my room until around 3pm, which was fine, and that I wouldn't be delaying getting the room clean. The employee at the counter immediately got a negative attitude and showed me a sign saying that I could pay P1,900 and stay until 6pm. Mind you that I was paying approximately P2,150 for a normal day of 2pm-12pm. I wasn't happy but kept my calm and said ok I would just leave at 12pm. She then said she would talk to her manager about late checkout. I went down later to go to the store and as I was walking thru the lobby she gave me thumbs up 👍 and with bland look on her face and when I asked why she said her manager said I could stay until 2pm but she didn't seem happy about it I've stayed at that hotel dozens of times and never had any problems until the last 2 times but I don't know if I will go back or if I feel comfortable recommending it anymore. The staff that's good is the best but the staff that isn't good is the worst

* Edited update April 2025: * We still like Palm Hotel and find it the best bang-for-buck hotel in the area. If you don't feel like going out for breakfast, the cafe has some special breakfast deals that are quite good. We got a much nicer room this time, but our neighbours were very loud, talking, moving furniture, etc. though this was not the hotel's fault. We found all staff still very professional and helpful and the cleanliness of the rooms was very good. Wi-fi was better this time too. Palm Grove is our new favourite hotel in Manila. The staff were professional and friendly and very, very polite. Top marks to the staff. There are cheaper hotels in the area but Palm Grove strikes the right balance between price and quality. Also, there are great deals to be had online as opposed to the walk-in rate. The rooms were spotlessly clean and our double bed was gigantic; we could have thrown a party on the bed there was so much room. Having a kettle and cups in the room was a nice touch, because we could make our own tea/coffee/noodles whenever we wanted. There was also a fridge in the room to keep your beer cold. Two bottles of water were supplied daily and the room was made up promptly whenever you left the "please make up my room" tag on the door handle. The location is fantastic, being less than one block away from Robinsons Mall and a not-too-far walk from Roxas Boulevard and the waterfront. The wifi was mostly good, but it could be erratic depending upon which room you had so I think the router repeaters had areas of lower penetration. We will happily use Palm Grove Hotel again.

We’ve checked in to this hotel for the 3rd time and will definitely book again in the future. Rooms are spacious; staff are all polite, courteous and attentive. Housekeepers will ask you if you need the room to be cleaned every time you meet them in the hallway. And the notice on the table is very true (see picture) as we left money on the table for the cleaners but was still there when we came back. I highly recommend this hotel sya nice it’s only across the mall.

The worst Receptionist girl that work on a hotel. Palm Hotel is the winner of selecting such bad receptionist. No smile, ignorant to customers, giving command for example ( wait ..wait) Says terminology as Room is dirty ( not saying room needs clean to checkin) was not occupied by customer. Cheating customer for saying wait for cleaning at lobby from time 12:30 to 1:50 I was the only customer there at that time. I will be so respectful if she said ( sir, we will not get you in the room till 2:00pm) However, most good hotel They accept check in 12:00pm if the room is available .

Management is invisible and can not reach them … fake no in Card … no out of service. Hiding her name through Jacket

I am regular customer their since 2015! But this is the last visit due to management descending.

None of their colleagues willing to help… they justify only but not solving. When i ask for exective manager call they said not available. Where is their no give me missing no then out of service no.

Called here colleague from out side as executive manager and was supporting her by saying cleaning take 1.5hr to wait

I applies a written complain. They kept it in drawer and never investigate and never discussed the issue until I leave with no action. They ignore any management issues or complaint.

A Genetor mistake in any hotel or company or any Establishment Is a management mistake.

Besides, you have to pay for everything in this hotel If you need sugar you pay. Tea leave you pay. The free water they give it to you till you request. Soup & shampo you need to get muscles to press them. The econimic way of this hatel is so stingy and non respectful to customer needs.

Hard time to charge mobiles or others because of Electric plugs are so old and you need converter sockets

Bye and i will not come back to this Palm Hotel Manila in Malate again

Briefly, the Hotel has no Genuine Management to improve the services .

Comparing with the price ! It is expensive. I rate...
