Poor place to stay (owner not fair or considerate to long stay guest). I normally don't leave reviews, but with the unscrupulous way the 'owner' tried & succedded in swindling me out of money, I wanted to warn others.
I stayed at this location for 9 days (Dec. 27 - Jan. 5, 2020). I was told the hotel was under new management by the owner herself (told me she was the owner on the phone & also appears ro be the manager, since she is the only one called when issues arise).
After staying 9 days, I asked if I could leave 2 of my suitcases at the hotel until I return on the following Monday. I was told that would be fine and that there wouldn't be a charge. When I called Monday night to notify the staff I was coming to get the 2 bags. I then called and told them I was leaving now to come there, so they would expect me, to which I was told that the owner decided I should pay a storage fee of 1000 pesos. I notified them that Inwas tild I could leave the bags for free (I assumed bc I stayed at the hotel 9 consecutive nights which was a big help to them since they just 're-opened' under new management, and likely needed bookings to balance out the cost spent on remodeling. Many calls were made to the owner, about being told I could leave my bags for free, but it did no good. She was determined for me to pay a storage fee, irregardless of what I was told. I was simply told the 'owner decided I should pay a storage fee'. Maybe the hotel didn't rent enough rooms the past week & she saw an opportunity to bring the numbers up a little by charging me the fee.
Don't get me wrong, I have no problem paying a fee for something, if that was what was agreed upon. I was told that I could leave the bags there for free however. And I don't thinks it's fair for an owner (or anyone else) to arbitrarily decide I should pay a fee, after the terms had already been set & agreed to. If I were called & told that I need to come get my bags or a fee would be assessed, I could accept that. But that's not what happened. I was simply told, 'come get your bags, and that the owner had assessed a storage fee'. No warning or anything. I was also told that if I didnt pay the fee & come get the bags, that they would be brought to the police station & turned over to them'. I know there has been corruption in the Philippines, but it's s mind-boggling that a 'hotel owner' would pulll this. She knew I was on my way to the airport to go back to the US & that I didn't have cash or card to even address her frivilous demands, but still stuck to the decision to charge me, even when I warned her i would leave a Google review to warn others about her poor business ethics, but nothing moved her. She wanted that money, and sadly I had to get it to pay her & nearly missed my flight (I arrived at the airport & received my ticket at 12:41 pm & my flight was at 12:50 pm). All I can say is,...
