We were recommended Grandma's Home B&B from our taxi driver who collected us from Sabang. This was our last two nights before heading home, so we were keen to find somewhere comfortable before the 3 flights to get back to London.||Grandma's Home was perfectly located in the middle of Puerto Princesa City, making it idea to get to shops, restaurants, bars etc. Within walking distance of the local public market, Plaza Cuartel, Baywalk Park and the immaculate Conception Cathedral. On our second day a staff member arranged a scooter for us to use for the day where we visited Iwahig Prison, Butterfly Eco Garden and the abandoned Vietnamese Village, all of which are within 30 minutes on bike from the hotel.||As well as the location being ideal, the rooms were very comfortable with good bathroom facilities, WIFI, wardrobe space, 1 double and 1 single bed and a flat screen TV. We also had breakfast both mornings which came with the room at no added cost.||The staff were very helpful and friendly throughout our two nights stay, even if I did stumble home drunken from Tiki Bar (great bar 5mins away) on the last night forgetting a whole conversation with the receptionist... Would recommend for anyone looking for a comfortable stay in the centre of Puerto...
Read moreMy partner and I stayed at Grandmas two different times during our five weeks in the Philippines. The room was clean and comfortable, the breakfast in the morning was always great and Ryan and Gigi were the best hosts possible. We even were able to leave our luggage there for free for a couple of days while we traveled around on a rented motorcycle. I would recommend this establishment to everyone. Its the people you encounter on your travels that make their mark, and these people were some of the best! It is also close enough to the airport and the bay walk. We liked it enough to choose to stay there again when we travelled through Puerto Princessa a second time. One nice feature of the place, is an area they have where guests can sit and talk with one another. We met some very sweet...
Read moreSo I only stayed one night, the location was great. Near the airport and loads of banks, bars etc, but down what I thought would be a quiet side street.||At first glance, the room looked great, clean, practical and cool. And the front-of-house team were very helpful.||However......my first impression didn't last long. There were a lot of ants in my room, and mosquitos, the toilet didn't flush, the shower was pretty feeble and the air con was so noisy I couldn't sleep. No window, mouldy bread and jam at breakfast (really mouldy) and as is often the case in the Philippines, lots of crazy dogs and chickens next door, who were busy barking and cock-a doodle-do-ing all night.||Um......so in summary ok for a one night stopover but no longer than that unless they address a lot of...
