GUNI GUNI BISTRO — Restaurant in Puerto Princesa

Disappointing experience. Saw people at the table next to us with an amazing looking plate of nachos. Tried to order some & were told they were sold out. Ok, bummer, but it happens. Decided to order a quesadilla & a burger, specified no onions & asked for 2 mango margaritas posted as a drink special. We were then told they were out of mango margaritas as well. Regular margarita? Also nope. But then, while waiting for our 4th choice drinks, we see two beautiful mango margaritas leaving the bar to go to another table! We were told they were out! We waited a long time for our food, but it is a busy place, so we're understanding. Then our food finally comes, and the quesadilla is LOADED with onions! We notified the server immediately and sent it back & said we did not need a replacement. We proceeded to go ahead and try to split the burger, checks for onions, but after 2 bites discover the patty is full of onions! At this point we again notified the server and just asked for the check, ended up paying over 1000 pesos for 2 bites of burger, a small portion of fries & 2 drinks which didn't come till after our food a good 30+ minutes after ordering. Nice, almost eclectic spot. Aloha grilled chicken wings are to die for. Staff was friendly and attentive. Forgot the other dish I had but I'm pretty sure it was delicious too. Drinks are good here, at least that's what my crew thinks. I don't drink. Kinda of the beaten path but obviously on Google,. Be sure to grab a taxi or a trick, though we walked from our hotel. The music was actually pretty dope, I even had to use Google to recognize some songs so I could add to my playlist. Don't sit towards the back by the restroom, I mean it didn't\didn't stink but people leaving the restroom leave the door open and it's just annoying trying to eat looking into the restroom. Also there are Geico's all over the bar, didn't bother me but I just hope nothing falls in anyone drinks ...! Place is generally quiet but it gets semi full at night. Didn't enjoy the French fries though, maybe frozen too long or an oil I'm not used to. Menu is priced well and a decent...

Nice hostel, good beds, nice staff, comfortable couch. Very good wifi! (Unless the power goes out) The rooms are a bit confusing and sometimes a bit cramped when it is full. The shower runs out into the hallway, which is why there is a risk of slipping. Especially at night. There are some board games and also various streaming services are offered. The associated restaurant is highly recommended! The pizza is incredibly tasty and good. The breakfast is also not exactly small and satiates well for the first hours of the day. What is commendable is that the first coffee in the morning is free. Really had my fun here and will probably enjoy my second...
